Have a question, we are going down in July for our 8th wedding anniversary and our DD's first time. If you tell the resorts that it an anniversary, do they do anything special or has anyone had anything special done for them? Should I tell them at check in or when I make the reservations? I just want this to be the best trip for DW and DD.

Sometimes they do something, but not always. It also seems to vary from resort to resort.

At the All Stars don't expect anything. At the GF we got nothing.

At the BW we came back to our room to find a bottle of wine and chocolates, and a card.

Although we weren't styaing there over our anniversary, the AKL concierge called us on it to wish us a Happy Anniversary. They've also called on our birthdays. Great way to develop REALLY loyal repeat guests... :D

We did the Cruise/Land package for our Anniversary two years in a row and received flowers both times from the staff at the BW. (I beleive we received a little Minnie/Mickey statue the second time.) Of course, on the Cruise, we were seated with Honeymooners! (this was for our 24 & 25 Anniversaries - boy did we feel old!)

DH and I will be in the World for our anniversary this September. We are also hoping to feel a little extra magic while we are there!

We'll be there for our 10th in 3 weeks. I know the CSR noted our anniversary on our ressie - its a note on the confirmation. Hopefully it will result in some extra magic!

Yes - be sure to mention it when making your reservations and PS's, also mention it when checking in at your hotel and the restaurants.....but expect NOTHING and be pleasantly surprised if the magic comes your way.

:)

On our 1st anniversary, the Swan sent us chocolate covered strawberries. Our 2nd was at the contempary and we got nothing. We did get a lot of free desserts when we used PS, it was noted in the computer.

we got a huge suite at the CR when they found out it was our
10 yr. anniversary.....

we had--had some trouble with our first room view of a brick wall!! and they made up for it.

dont forget to mention it to anyone you can!!
have a happy anniversary!

When booking our ressie, they asked if we were celebrating a special occassion and I said, yes, our 10th Ann. That was 8 months b/4 we left, so I didn't think about it again.

Our first night we had PS's at Tony's. We had a hellish trip and almost cancelled from sheer exhaustion. When we finally sat down the table was covered with Mickey confetti and streamers. I just started to cry from the magic. I couldn't figure out how they knew. Then they gave us free dessert and I cried again (yes, I was exhausted and majorly stressed - It was the first time I was ever away from the kids and I was feeling major guilts).

At Yachtsmen steakhouse they also gave us a wonderful platter of free desserts. GF left us a pink rose and 1/2 bottle of champagne.

Better then any free gifts was the continuous magic that kept happening around the parks. Not expecting anything made everything so much more magical. Even w/o a freebie, make time to enjoy the smaller things disney has to offer and the special moments will just pour out.

Wow, what a story. That's great to hear.

We're at WDW next month on our 28th. I haven't even noted it in our resies at all. Maybe I should.

Thanks for all the info. I called and had it added to our ressies yesterday, they were happy to add it on. I also added that it was my DD's first time just in case. Like many have stated, I don't expect anything but it never hurts to ask. Also, my DW doesn't know I have told them. HEHE!

My DH and I stayed at the CR last year for our 1st anniversary, and the day after we checked in, we returned to our room to find Happy Anniversary balloons, a 100yrs Photo Album, and a card signed by Mickey and Minnie - complete with an autographed picture of them in their wedding attire! It made my trip....

Last year, i had them note on our reservations that we were celebrating our anniv. We stayed in 4 resorts. It was only at the first one that they did anything. It was at the GF, they showed up at the door on our second night there, and gave us a bottle of champange, glasses and a rose. My wife took home the empty bottle and glasses. We did not give a specific date of our anniv, just that we were celebrating it while we were there. The WL, BWV, and AKL did nothing.
