If it was left to her, then she should get it!! It's not her fault the son got a touch of the shaft! :teeth: He would still be getting money anyways, I think $400 million.

If he willed it to her, she should get it. If she should get it by law because she was his wife, then she should get it. We don't have to like it or think it's fair, but if she's entitled to the money than than she ought to get it.

Not sure I have my facts straight, but here's how I see it. The old goat left her the money in a living will. No matter what your opinion of her may be i.e. gold digger, tramp, skank whatever...it was his wish, she was his wife and deserves the money per his wish:confused3 I'm I wrong?

Although I can not stand her...I still think legally she is due the money

Yes she should get it and she was very loyal to him while he was alive.

She should get the money. It was his to give and I am sure he had his reasons.

1. No, he did not will her the money. Most all of his money is/was tied up in Trusts. It was not simply his money to will to her. The money is governed by the trust on behalf of contributing beneficiarys. He was, of all things, a lawyer who specialized in 'estates'. If he had wanted her to have the money, he would have made necessary arrangements. He know exactly what he was doing.

2. The very nature of Trusts is to protect the money from any one individual or entity. Trusts are governed by the Trust agreements, not individuals, or inheritance laws.

3. The only things that were specifically 'willed' to her were things like their home/property, cars, etc... She did received these things, and they were never in question.

4. Whether she was 'loyal' to him is highly debatable. She could not even remember the last day she saw him before he passed away.

That is the whole thing - he DIDN'T leave it to her.

There was a video shown on TV - not sure if it was Primetime Live or 20/20, but it was one of those type of shows - he clearly states that he wanted her to have all of the gifts that he gave her while he was alive. These included jewelry, cars, cash, and a ranch.

J. Howard Marshall was a very shrewd businessman, and he knew what he was doing. If he wanted her to have "half" he would have made sure of that.

I saw it too. She got old J. Howard in front of the camera and attempted to get him to say what she should get. She wasn't successful though and that tape (which was given to the son's attorney by her family) is the end of her case. She was hanging around for a while. If he truly wanted her to have more, he would have changed his trust.

NO she should not get it. Think of it from this perspective if it was your father and then this gold digger comes in and tries to take him for all he is worth how would you feel? PLEASE do not even try to tell me she was attracted to him! Let's face it all he had going for him was his money. She is a skank and at some point someone needs to let her know that.

like it or not - personally she is appalling, but she should get the money

anna nichole smith is what nightmares are made of. but like it or not, she was his wife, and if it was willed to her, she should get it. but then the son could plead that the "old goat" ( :rotfl: as another poster nicknamed) wasn't in his right state of mind? I dunno. I personally will be glad when she gets off my tv. jmo.

While changing channels, I happened upon the ANS reality show. One episode.

I don't know about the whole enchilada. If the will wasn't written for her to have it all, then no she should only get what was specified.

I do think she needs some serious help if that show was her reality.

Since it was not willed to her, I think she should'nt get the money. Did'nt she already get some of the money anyways?

Let the courts decide, and please don't tell the press what is going on. There are enough train wrecks without having to watch her.

Why do people think she is in the will? :confused3 She is not in the will.
She is basing her case on what she claims he told her and a letter written about possibly adding her as a beneficiary. Sometime AFTER this letter, his trust was amended and it still did NOT include her. A separate document was drafted that gifted her some cash, jewelry, a house and a car. That is what he left her, what she is entitled to and the family is not disputing it. If he wanted her to have half his estate, he would have made those changes when he amended the trust before his death.

I have a very tasteless remark to make, but as not to offend anyone, I'll leave it at this:

No!

Why do people think she is in the will? She is not in the will.

She has him on video tape declaring what he intended to will her.
Personally, I don't care one way or the other.
