I have looked through many posts and cannot find the answer for these two questions.
1. What is the earliest you can get to Norway in the morning to begin waiting in line to see the characters? (without character meal ressies)
2. What date do they move to MK?
Thanks DIS'ers!

If the park opens at 9, head straight to Norway to get in line. There will probably be a few people ahead of you that had breakfast reservations, but hopefully not many.

The switch happens April 20th.

If you don't have an ADR at Akershus, prepare to wait. We were there two weeks ago, and the wait was three hours by 9:10.

To try and have a shorter wait, you'll have to get to the entrance really early so you'll be at the front of the pack, and then get to Norway as fast as you can (lots of people will be full-out running). The main entrance should open a little early, around 8:45 or so.

If we get there for an EMH morning, will I still have to RUN? Cuz, that's probably not going to happen. We are not morning people...will we have to be there right when the EMH starts? This sounds nuts!

I second what the previous poster said. Here was our experience:

We went on Friday 14th. Official park opening was 9am. Arrived at International Gateway at 8.45 to find they were already letting people in. Got in and walked (fairly fast) to Norway. Arrived just after 9 to find the wait was estimated at 4 and a half hours :scared1: Chose not to wait ;)

Went again on Monday 17th. Official park opening was 9am. Arrived at International Gateway at 8.30. Let in at just after 8.45, fast walked (did not run) to Norway and arrived just before 9. Wait was estimated at 90 minutes. Others around us were groaning. DD and I were relieved it wasn't 4 and a half :rotfl: We met with Anna and Elsa (according to the time on our Photopass pics) at 10.31.

The CM on the 14th did say it appeared to be a particularly busy day but if you do not have a breakfast reservation at Akershus, you will need to be at the park prior to opening (at least 30 minutes to be sure) and be prepared to wait at least an hour but more likely nearer two.

last week the lines were 5-6 hours by noon.

When I saw them walk by on break i was not impressed.

Disney clearly was not ready for Frozen to be as big of hit as it is. There are very little cloths and dolls in any parks or DTD.

Compare that to Toy Story 3, when there were lotso and buzz junk EVERYWHERE.

You will have to RUN. People are consistenly waiting 4, 5 and up to 7 hours to see these characters. It's not a joke or exaggerating. Seriously. They are THAT popular. People are booking early breakfasts to get into the park before other people and then eating the $10 charge per person for not arriving to eat their actual breakfast and then waiting in line until 9am to see the girls. By the time the park opens at 9 you will have all of those people from Arkeshus breakfast (those who didn't eat and have been waiting, and those who choked down their food and ran across the street) ahead of you. Plus all of those people who can out run you (literally) in front of you. To get back to Norway is approx 1/2 a mile from the front entrance, and people do RUN. This is why by 10 or 15 minutes after 9am the line is up to 3 hours consistently. It's gotten worse instead of better.

It's been worse on EMH mornings because more people can access the park early, not just people with ADRs.

I'd been stalking this board ( http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3241420 ) for a while since I had a friend taking her little girl. Luckily, her trip coincides with the princesses being in MK so she was able to go the FP route...but if you have a few hours to spare you can read about many experiences on this board and it looks like someone posted just yesterday that they waited for 5 hours.
