We currently have FP's for SDMR, ETWB, and PPF, but I'm seriously considering changing our FP for PPF to one for meeting Anna & Elsa. The only reason I haven't yet is because we have reservations at the BBB at 8:05 that morning and, I figured, right after we could head straight for A&E beating (hopefully) the rush of people heading over there at RD. Is that a smart move? I looked up wait times and for standby read that it's somewhere between 3-4 hrs....that's insane!! Any advice?

IF you can get a FP, and meeting them is important to your little one(s),get one. If not, definitely go straight there when you're done with your BBB appt.

If it is a must do, get the fast pass.

Even getting there early you might be in for a reasonable, but long wait.

If it's important and you can get a FP at this point I would do it. There's no guarantee you'll beat the rush and could be stuck in line for awhile. Also many people seem to report RD is actually one of the worst times to wait in line because of the mad rush.

I dunno- I was there at rope drop and by the time I got there it was already at 1.40 minutes. I had a FP and was done in 20 minutes.

Although you have a BBB appointment at 8:05 will you not be getting pictures done when she is finished?

and the CM will hold you there until the rope drops. you are not that far ahead of the crowd for anna and Elsa

If you want to meet them, FP+ is a necessity. If waiting & wasting half a day in the park is fine with you & the kids, prepare for a 3-4hrs wait. We had FP+ last week for 9-10am on an EMH morning. The new RD procedure, which is helpful, slows you down. Early breakfast ADRs are already in front on you. We arrived @ 9:15am, in and out in 15 minutes. Standby wait already 250min. We then did Cinderella/Rapunzel M&G (~Noon) after CRT which was @ 10:15. Family next to us in standby alrea for E&A had been in line for almost 3hrs.

FWIW if FP+ is available, get it. Also, IMO a 60min for PPF should beat a 3-4hrs wait hands down any day of the week.

We were there at drop rope (albeit not at the front), we ran, quite fast, but the line was already over 2 hours when we got there. A cast member told me it was people who had got out of CRT and CP and, of course, BBB. If you aren't on site, this is the way people are getting to the front of the line. If there are fast passes, even with a BBB reservation, you aren't necessarily going to be at the front for A&E. For non WDW hotel guests, booking something to get them into the park early seems to be the way to get yourself to the front of A&E. You can imagine it, can't you. "Eat quick kids, we need to be somewhere."

Also note, we went straight on the carousel, no line, no waiting and once we got off it was at 300 minutes. Luckilly we had an open fast pass for another day.

I don't have little ones now, but read on here often about the time it takes at BBB plus getting the pictures taken. Right now they have changed opening to 8:40 on non EMH days, I would definiately get the FP for A&E if that is what she wants, go there and then go to the place you originally had the FB, that early you should not have that long of a wait.

Cast Member here - Yes, get the FP. Now. The lines have been 250-300 minutes (5 hours)! Even if you run in at the beginning of the day the line is already crazy. Seriously, get it now in advance. I was at MK about three weeks ago and the FP's were sold out until the end of June. You can't get it in the parks because they are all long gone.

On another note, they are also briefly in the parade so if your kids just want to see them from afar that could be another option.

FP+ unless spending the majority of your day in the A&E line is appealing to you. I haven't seen it less than 3 hours. I was actually surprised when it was only 3 hours, mostly I saw it closer to 5+.

Although I'm sure our DD still want to meet them, I know she wouldn't want to waste 5 hours of park time in line, so I will definitely be reserving a FP+ time for our next trip.

Thank you all for your input, I went ahead and switched our FPs for PPF to A&E. Same time slot so it works out great :thumbsup2

You will not be done at BBB in time.

We were at MK yesterday, at 9:15 the standby wait time was 240 minutes.

Definitely get a FP+.

I'm surprised you were able to switch it. Are A&E fast passes easier to book now? I thought they were usually gone in a few minutes 60 days ahead of time. I can't check because I'm not at 60 days yet.

I am staying off site in 29 days. Yesterday I was able to reserve a FP for A&E for 9:05-10:05 am. The others available were 7 pm or later. They are still available even 30 days out. I even got SDMT for 2:40 and ETWB for 11:30 am.

I would keep the FP. To me character lines always seem to move slow... even short ones.

Definitely keep that fastpass!!

I brought my granddaughter in early May, and she is a HUGE Elsa fan! We had an early breakfast at the Castle, there weren't too many people around. Rope drop is outside the castle. But you could tell when they had opened the front gates - it got so crowded!! At rope drop, people were rushing for the Anna/Elsa line! We rode the caroussel (we had a fast pass starting at 9:20), and as we passed the line, it was at 300 minutes!! I took a picture of that sign - I couldn't believe it! It was 17 minutes after the park opened!! We walked right in and within a few minutes, we were done!
