Is Olaf still the only character being drawn at the Animation Academy? Or have they went to the normal schedule of characters (hoping for this answer:)) We will be there in August and we always love doing this a few times (especially with the daily schedule they have) but if its just Olaf, I guess we will only do once. Thanks!

When we went in May we drew Mickey Mouse. The How to Draw a Snowman signage was down, so I'm pretty sure that means it is back to business as usual.

The last time we did it was in April. We went three times in a row and drew Olaf, Jack Skellington and Phineas & Ferb. So even if Olaf is still being drawn you have a good chance of getting other characters as well.

Yup in May we drew BayMax and last week we drew Sully. I'm so glad the variety is back! They don't have the sandwich board outside showing who is when though which is kind of a bummer but so far whenever we've walked up the CM told us the next class was for someone we hadn't drawn yet.

We went 2 sessions in a row a week and a half ago and got Tigger and Jack Skellington.

I can't seem to find the news thread so here seems a good spot. Am I correct in reading that the academy is closing in August? I know something new will come but we're going in in out so I think we'd miss out. Reading this thread earlier reminded me to put this on our really really must do list. I was so looking forward to it and was planning to frame my and my two year olds attempts for their room.

I think you're thinking of DisneyWorld. I don't believe closure has been announced for DL.

When we went in December, then said they were out of paper and were closed for the full 4 days of our trip. I hope theyre open in September

Great, thanks for all of the replies. I am glad they are back to drawing all the characters!

We went the first week in June and drew Sully.

We went in late June and drew several characters. If you ask at the front sign-in, they can tell you the schedule.

We drew Baymax, Jack Skellington, Minnie and Phineas and Ferb.

Can someone explain to me what AA is? It's in DCA, right? Do they sort of teach you to draw a character?

It's kind of an auditorium setting. A Disney illustrator shows you how to draw a character step by step. It's so great and way more simple to draw them than one would think.

I wonder why they took away the sandwich board showing the different times. I remember the first time I noticed it was missing last year, I asked a CM where it was and he said it was being "refurbished". Now it's been a year or nearly a year since and I don't think that board is still being worked on. It was just nice to walk up, see what was coming up and planning accordingly.
