Animation Academy schedule at DHS

What time does this occur throughout the day? Is it on the times guide for set times, or do you just show up and wait till the previous group gets through so your time waiting would vary depending on when the last class started? Is there a better/worse time to attend?

The Animation Academy opens later than the rest of the park, about 10 or 11. The program runs continuously taking about 20 minutes. So, yes, you would just show up and wait for the next group to go through. Since their are different areas you go through before the drawing class part, the wait would not be the full 20 minutes if you are in the next group to go in.

We were in the 10:00 class in Feb. I think there was a class in before us also, so it may start at. 9:30. There have been times when we have gotten to the waiting area and it was already roped off meaning that class would be full. Those times the wait has been over a half an hour because we have had to then wait for the following class. I think the classes are usually on the hour and the half hour.

Another thing to keep in mind - there are a certain number of lighted drawing tables, and once they are filled, then they let some people sit around the sides of the room but not at the drawing tables. The tables are fun, if you can get there about 15-20 min before the next show you'll be sure to get a table.

This is correct. At DLR they put out a board to let you know who they are drawing and when, we take a pic and choose accordingly. At WDW it's a craps shoot who you'll be drawing so we have multiples of the same characters

Does the Animation Academy run until park close? I have seen some people have said it closes earlier, and I would hate to miss it.

When we are at DHS we go different parts of the day and get in 2 or 3 classes. We do go in Jan when crowds aren't big. But it's one of our favorites. And the husband gets all excited when I remember to bring his drawing pencils.
