We just got back from a 5th floor room on the Sunset Savannah and in our opinions, they really shouldn't call it a savannah view room. The only time we ever saw any animals on it (except for the occasional small bird) was very late at night, after 11pm, when the animals would go to sleep in front of our room, and when I made my nightly pilgrimages to the bathroom, courtesy of my future daughter kicking my bladder all night long. Of course that only helped me, not the rest of our party since they all slept through that. Also, when there were animals out there at night, it was not only too dark to see them, but the treetops basically hid our view anyway. They would wake up around 6am, eat, then leave by 7 when the rest of the family woke up. We had 2 rooms last trip (12/27-31/02), one on the Arusha Savannah and one on the Uzima Savannah, across the hall from each other on the 2nd floor, and both of those had beautiful views all day long. We asked to be changed this trip too since we didn't see any animals, and were told there were 2 rooms next to each other on the Uzima Savannah, but we'd have to wait 2 days to move. We didn't care about being next to each other, though we didn't want to be on opposite ends of the resort, so they found a few other rooms, but we would have had to pack all our stuff and move the next day after getting in after midnight and having an early breakfast PS at CP the next morning so we decided it wasn't worth it and thought the view would get better. Unfortunately it didn't and we should have just moved, but it was too late then. We're going back for 3 nights in June, concierge this time, and we're going to request to be on the 2nd floor, Arusha Savannah, even though the concierge rooms are on 5 and 6 because the view was so much better. Hopefully this is something they can do because I wouldn't ever want to stay high up again.
