This question may have been asked before but I couldn't find it on another thread. We decided to arrive at WDW a night early and I didn't want to add another night to our 1 bedroom at SSR if we were arriving late. So I booked a Savannah View studio at AKV for one night. We are breakfast people so we want to eat a nice breakfast and spend some time at the resort before check-out. What is the dining situation for a good breakfast? Can we just hang on the balcony and see the animals in the morning?

Thanks for your help.

Mara has a decent quick serve breakfast that you could take to your balcony and watch the animals (we did this two years ago.) But Boma has a FANTASTIC sit down buffet breakfast. I would try that if possible.

Ty.

definitely Boma!!!

there is also room service if you want to stay in your room and animal watch.

Another vote for Boma. It is tremendous.

I vote for Boma.

And if you get there when they open (7am, I think) you may not even need an ADR. We stayed at AKV the week of Christmas, went downstairs to BOMA a few minutes after 7am & the cast member said they had plenty of openings for breakfast. He said they always do that early in the morning.

The Boma breakfast buffet is unbelievable. Do that.

(also no problems getting seated late in the morning).

Sounds great! Thanks for the tips. I'm not sure how early we will be up but I think I'll make ADRs just in case.

Gotta do Boma! When we were there in Feb of this year, it was too hazy/foggy to see the animals that good first thing in the AM.

They feed the animals on the savanna at about 7 am so that is my favorite time for watching them. I've not done the BOMA buffet so I"d probably eat food we'd brought with us or go to Mara for the take out.

Boma is a must at least once on every trip for us, so glad AKV is our home resort!

Claire ;)

May I ask what makes Boma so special for breakfast? We tried it for dinner once and thought it was just barely okay. Granted, we had been up for roughly 22 hours and had to wait 2 1/2 hours to be seated, but is the breakfast really that good?

We are going in just under a month, and I wouldn't mind giving it another try...

Since many of you have eaten at Boma for breakfast I will ask here. THere is supposed to be some special punch type drink they serve here that is supposed to be really good. Any one remember?

It is called Frunch and is a combination of different juices. It is really good! Have you ever had a Mai Tai? Frunch tastes like a Mai Tai without the alcohol.
