Hi,
We're thinking of renting points for an AKV stay. I have reviewed the points charts and many of the posts on this board. I have a few questions....

Are all of the "value" studio and 1 BR accommodations in Jambo House?

Which would be recommended for boys aged 12 and 14...Kidani or Jambo? (they are pool kids!)

If you stay in Jambo House, is the Kidani pool permitted to be used. If so, is it walkable?

Yes. The value category is only at Jambo. Those villas are smaller than the other categories.

That's really comes down to personal preference, but DVC members (and their guests/renters) staying at AKV (either building) are allowed to use either pool.

Yes, it's about a 5 - 10 minute walk. There is also bus service between the two buildings.

I knew someone here would have the answers. I just reviewed the point charts again....and have another question. The standard studios are not that much more in points.....are some of these located in Kidani? I'm thinking that we might like that location better....

Kidani also has the nice Community Hall with a pool table---my teens played there a lot last summer

Thanks for the info. The boys saw the pictures of AKL on line and they want to stay there. Now I have to get up the courage to try to rent points.

just a heads up that Kidani has no counter service location. I didn't think it would be an issue but found it really was for us.

We stayed over Christmas 2009 at Both Resorts and found we liked Jambo MUCH more, even in a "Value Studio". We had a DS(15) and DD(9) with us and didn't notice the room being that much smaller an issue
We still had our Savanna View, which was AMAZING, and the theming at Jambo is almost one of total immersion, Enjoy....Shawn

Standard are located in both buildings. At Jambo House, they are pool view. At Kidani, they are parking lot/pool view. You can't really see the pool without also looking at the parking lot at KV.

The studio will have one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa. The one bedroom will have a king sized bed and a queen sized sleeper sofa, plus a twin sized sleeper chair. The value one bedroom doesn't have the sleeper chair because there isn't any room for it.
