Animal Kingdom Villas and Club Level?

We are surprising my husband with a WDW trip for his 40th birthday. We were looking at Animal Kingdom Villas with club level. Because the villas are separate from the Animal Kingdom resort, does that mean that we would have to walk over to the main building every time we use the the club level lounge?

The club level villas are in Jambo (the main building)

We are staying there in 2 weeks in a 1 bedroom. The 1 bedrooms in Jambo only have 1 bathroom where the ones in Kidani have 2. If I read right the DVC Club level are all on the club level floor. Regular club level can be on other floors in Jambo, but need the club level key to go up the elevator to club level. We stayed club level a few years ago, pre DVC ownership and we were on the 4th floor.

Are you a DVC member? If so do you own at AKV? That's about the only way that you would get a room on CL at AKV. There are only 6 rooms, total. So 6, 1 beds and 6, studios. All of which can be combined to make a 2 bedroom. These rooms go the fastest and none are reserved for a cash reservation. The villas are not separate from the lodge and actually the CL AKV rooms are the only rooms that are on the CL level. All other CL rooms are on the 4th floor. Villas are on the 5th floor of Jambo house and all of Kidnani (I can't ever spell that right).

Just FYI the CL is on the 6th floor.

There are five two bedroom lockoffs on the sixth floor of Jambo House which is the same floor as the concierge lounge. Three of the two bedroom lockoffs are savanna view (somewhat blocked by the roof overhang) and two are pool view. You can't request either view, you just get what you get. If you really want the savanna view, you don't want to waste points on the concierge villas. You really only want to book them for access to the lounge and ability to book the Sunrise Safari.

These go very quickly at 11 months out as soon as online booking opens for the day.

Kidani Village has no concierge villas. These five two bedroom lockoffs are the only concierge level DVC villas in the system.

For the AKL (totally at Jambo House), the concierge hotel rooms used to be on the sixth and fifth floors. Now they are on the fourth floor.
