Hi
was hoping someone can help, i am on David's Disney VCR's site and I click on the animal kingdom villas
These are the choices I was looking at:
Value Standard Savannah
can anyone tell me what the VALUE rooms are I guess its the location??
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!
Danielle:thumbsup2

Value is based on location. It means you will have no view or a view of the dumpsters, roof, parking lot, etc.

The value villas are smaller in size than the regular villas, there are appx. 3 feet shorter.

They are smaller but there are a few with decent views. For a family might be a bit tight but for two no problem. They also tend to be close to the lodge entrance.

Not true....

The DVC villas were created when they converted the AKL hotel rooms on the 5th floor. Most of these rooms were "deluxe" rooms because they were larger. The conversion of the "deluxe" rooms resulted in the standard and savanna view DVC villas. A few of the rooms on the 5th floor (the ones near the front of the resort...ostrich & zebra trail??) were "standard" hotel rooms. As previously mentioned, they are 3' shorter from door to balcony. As a result, they so not have the sleeper chair in the 1 & 2BR's. There are (4) 2-BR lock-offs that face the Sunset Savanna, (4) 2-BR lock-offs that face the pool, and (2) 2-BR lock-offs that face the parking lot. There are also 4 dedicated studios that face the Sunset Savanna and 4 dedicated studios that face the pool.

When you book a value room, you cannot request a view. Your room assignment is luck of the draw. Since the value rooms are scarce and a great deal, owners typically book them between 10-11 months out so you must be able to plan ahead.

Here's the view from our value room in 2009. We stayed one night in a value studio and then moved just down the hall to a value 1BR for the next 4 nights. I'm not sure which one these were taken from, but the view was very similar from both rooms.

The rooms you see on the other side of the savanna in this photo are classified as savanna view rooms. You'd have essentially the same view, but you will have a smaller room. By booking the value category, you are guaranteeing a smaller room at a significant savings, but you are gambling that you will get a savanna view. We book 1BR values so we have a 40% chance of a savanna view and a 40% chance of a pool view.
