does a bus run directly to dtd from AK or will we have to go to our resort then a load dtd bus? we have a dining reservation in dtd 1-1/2 hours after AK closes for the day.

You will need to transfer at a resort but not necessarily your own. Maybe Pop or CBR as they are sort of on the way to DTD and are large enough that one would hope a bus to DTD would arrive soon???

No buses from any park to DTD.

If you see a POR, POFQ, SSR, or OKW bus come along - you can take those. They all unload near the main building and access to the water taxi over to DTD as well.

Take a bus to Saratoga Springs, then walk over to DTD.

Bus to closest resort AK bus to DTD! There is plenty to do in DTD that you can kill 1-1/2hrs., even if all you do is "window shop".

That's what we did. We had no clue there were no direct buses to DTD from the parks so we went to SSR and walked.

Stand near bus stops 6 & 7 and take whichever bus comes first.

#6 is PO and the first stop will be FQ, the DTD stops at FQ last before heading to DTD. This way you will not be on the bus for multiple stops

#7 is AK and the same applies here. Get off at the first stop Kidani Village and the DTD bus wiil make KV the last stop before heading to DTD

You can also go to SSR at #4, CBR at #5, CSR at #8 or OKW at #9 but your bus will make multiple stops at the resort

about how far of a walk is dtd from ssr??

It depends on which you stop you get off at. If you go to the Congress Park stop, it's a five to ten minute walk to the DTD Marketplace.

We took the water taxi once too. Really easy and quick. Nice way to get off your feet. Took about 10 minutes from SSR.
