We aren't really allowed to talk about availability so I am removing it from the quote, but I see standard/savanna studios available at both Kidani and Jambo that day.It looks like ******* is blocked off from all studio room types. I doubt it has to do with a refurb since it is only one day but maybe? And if not, any ideas on why this is?
We can’t talk about it in terms of an anomaly suggesting maintenance etc?We aren't really allowed to talk about availability so I am removing it from the quote, but I see standard/savanna studios available at both Kidani and Jambo that day.
So, I think there is a bug on the DVC site right now. I have a date toward the end of July that shows as "white" however it appears it would let me book it if I had an AKV contract. If I have it selected it says "continue" instead of "waitlist". In fact this date shows as "white" on all resorts even at Saratoga, which we own at, and it would allow me to book.We can’t talk about it in terms of an anomaly suggesting maintenance etc?
I’m not sure, when I search at Jambo that date is white rather than blue even though the days preceding it are blue.
ETA kidani is also showing this night as unavailable on the calendar for studios.
I'm seeing the issue on July 30.There is a system problem that actually started yesterday evening that affected every room in every DVC Resort at WDW. One thing it was doing was showing no availability for Aug 30, 31, and Sep 1. That has apparently been partly fixed for those dates but Aug 30 is still an issue.
Yes, and it is also doing it for May 30I'm seeing the issue on July 30.
Yep, I'm seeing it for May 30, but August 30 for me is fine.Yes, and it is also doing it for May 30
I believe you are correct, that takes some special IT work to break something in that manner......I think it's an issue on the 30th of every (or nearly...) month that has 31 days.
The dates are bookable if the dates are pre-selected from your search, but adjusting the dates selected breaks it.
We’ve had no news on when they’ll start the refurb.I just had to cancel an AKV reservation due to the hurricane. I’m thinking of rescheduling for April next year. Is there any way the refurbishment will start by then?
Fingers crossed, because the 7yr schedule is long overdue for AKL. Maybe they're waiting until the December association meeting to announce.Permits could be for anything of course, but FWIW, a Notice of Commencement permit was filed Friday with a Kidani address. The contractor is Barton Marlow Company and it expires 12/31/2025 (slightly longer than the standard year for most permits).
Again, FWIW!
so i take it nothing was mentioned the the september meeting?Fingers crossed, because the 7yr schedule is long overdue for AKL. Maybe they're waiting until the December association meeting
I was wondering the same thing, there were no articles or any news from sites that I could findso i take it nothing was mentioned the the september meeting?

We’re allowed to talk about availability in generalities, just not specific room-dates.So I know we don’t talk about availability here but let’s just say a bunch of availability just showed up for a highly sought after room type at Jambo house… is it possible they were holding back rooms for the refurb and released them?
I still track room inventory for my own stays and 7m switches. I like knowing how urgent I need to be in the future, and it's generally very interesting to me to watch inventory move over time.*We’re allowed to talk about availability in generalities, just not specific room-dates.
Like I can say “early December books up fast!” But not “December Xth has 3 studios left at resort Y”
In any case,
Yes, that could potentially be the reason.
But I will say at one point I tried to track availability at the room count level and I realized pretty quickly that DVC inventory fluctuates significantly at times in ways that aren’t easily explained by room blocking or guest booking, but instead seem to be reflective of IT issues and manual push-outs.
I believe @ehh came to a similar conclusion when they did similar work.
So I wouldn’t put too much thought into why any particular significant change in inventory happens.
