Animal Kingdom pools

How fun for little kids are the pools at Animal Kingdom? Which building do you stay at to get those giraffes to look in your window lol Totally unfamiliar with AK. Our home resort is GF so I know that GF has a fun kids area and beach area. Does AK also have the same? Just debating whether to do GF and just visit AK or do a night at AK? Not planning on the parks this time just a short trip. Can you go to the lodge and view the animals? Thank you

I have no little kids, but noticed that AK and the newer resorts have the zero depth entry pools. I like that for little ones being able to play at the edge and not be restricted to the kiddie pool.
AK has a nice water play area at Kidani Village pool.
Also I found that Kidani has the better Savanna Views, but longer (really longer) hallways. When we stayed we thought it was a little weird that the best route to the pool from our end of the building was through the underground parking.

Jambo house has a better slide for little kids. Kidani has a bigger slide and a small baby slide.

Jambo only has DVC rooms on the 5th/6th floor. Kidani has rooms on 2nd to 5th floor.

Both Kidani and Jambo have public viewing spots where you can look at the animals. As mentioned above, the Kidani pool has a kiddie play area with water features. It's a pretty nice space.
