We've been to WDW several times but have never gone to Animal Kingdom. We are going back to WDW in October and my DD (6 1/2) has been watching the Disney Vacation Planning DVD - she's very excited about trying out Kali River Rapids.

We were planning to visit Animal Kingdom on a Saturday. Is that a wise or crazy idea? I know to avoid Magic Kingdom on Saturdays but wondered how the crowds at Animal Kingdom might be.

Thanks!
Debbie

We are planning our Sat. to be our AK day. I think I have heard that AK is usually the least crowded on Saturdays, but maybe someone else will have some experience.
I'm hoping we're right though!:smooth:

It depends on what time of the year you are going too. Most of the time when I go to AK it is normally on Sat. and they can have some pretty good sized crowds. The lines normally aren't that bad first thing in the morning if you skip the safari ride. If you want to do the safari then I would be there before the park opens at around 8:15 and when they open make a bee line directly for the safari ride since that line will grow quickly.

We plan to go to AK October 23.

Do they have FastPass for Kali River Rapids and the Safari Ride?

Thanks,
Debbie

We did AK on a Saturday, actually 2 weeks ago! It wasn't too bad. We went right at opening, and there was already a 30-45 minute wait for Safari. We got a FP and walked the trails, and were ready just in time for the opening of our FP!

Another hint....We got a great deal on the child's meal deal at Pizzafari. It's 5.99, includes the regular adult size pizza, chips, a drink (we chose the lg. bottled juice, rather than small soda), and the 2 coupons for the free soda/ice cream or popcorn later in the day! It was a great deal!! We used the coupon for a huge chocolate soft serve in a waffle cone, and a coke in a souvenir cup!

We usually go on Saturday, and find it to be a good time to visit. I agree with the above about bee-line to Safari, and if your wait is already long, grab the Fast Pass.
We usually do Kali Rapids later in the day if it needs to warm up a little. Also, we don't like to take the extra clothes, so it's a good time to leave afterward ~ because we usually do get soaked. They do have FP at Kali also. Your DD should love the ride.
Have a great trip!
