Probably not. There are so few even DVC members can’t get them easily.

Don't count on it.

There are 8 dedicated and 10 lockoff value studios. They get booked by AKV owners right at 8 AM, 11 months in advance. Sometimes, they aren't even available then.

Most owners aren't willing to go thru the machinations necessary to snag one for a renter. It takes a lot of work (and luck) to acquire the reservation and you're asking them to do it for less compensation than they would get from sleeping in and leisurely booking another studio that will garner them more money.

That's our home resort (DVC owners) and we've never been able to score one.

Yes! We were very lucky and got one, then we were even able to add a night on to it right before our trip. We've even been lucky enough to get a CL room on rented points before. So it's possible!

And so is jumping in an elevator just before it hit's the ground and being able to talk about it later. In other words, you experienced a miracle indeed. (I'm truly envious...I've had no luck with either as a DVC member.)

I got one pretty easily.
We used DVC rental store. Staying in a Studio at Jambo House in September for 8 nights.

We lucked out and got one. I was afraid I wasn't going to like the room since it's smaller and we did. The view was really nice too.
