dining! which one would you eat at and why??
I am planning on doing an adr for here, we have never been before and I thought my dd would like it as she is going into her last yr of college on animal care! I mean she would love the surroundings!!!
oh yes do they do vegetarian food??- thats what working with animals does to you!

are you thinking of going to Jiko or Boma at AKL? Boma does far more for the vegetarian (me and DH are vege) but you do need to LOVE cinnamon as everything seems tobe smothered in it!!! If you tell your server that you have a vege in your party they will ask a chef to talk you through whats there. Not done JIKO as its a bit more limited on choice and DH doesn't like cheese either and when we looked at the menu before the vege option had cheese. The chefs are excellent in Boma and really helped us out by making a wonderful banquet for us because we didn't like cinnamon and it made our holiday..:)

I would agree jeanette. Boma caters for everyone. Lovely soups as well. I dnt eat much meat and loads of choice. Jilko is more a la carte . Saana hv not tried but it sounds nice but based around curry. Cant believe its 5 years since we shared a flight.

No it can't be 5 years....:scared1:

Vegetarian here, I like Boma, but Sanaa is better. They have a vegetarian menu and you can actually view animals from the dining room (until the sun goes down). It's in Kidani Village which is adjacent to AKL's Jambo House.

Eaten twice at Boma doubt we will go back again, on the other hand Sanaa will definitely be on our list if we do DDP again.
Sanaa looks out onto the animals, Boma doesn't.
We used to enjoy buffets but since starting with DDP 2 years ago we find food far better quality at regular TS, only evening buffet we did this trip was CM's but for the characters, not the food.
Can't help with veggie options though.

Another Veggie here! :thumbsup2

Of the three dining options I'd do Sanaa for dinner. I love their veggie options and I think the food is great.

But I'd also recommend Boma, especially for breakfast. We hit Boma regularly for breakfast while on vacation. It set's you up for the day and is very reasonable pricewise (well, reasonable for Disney! :) )

Don't know if you eat eggs or not but if you do they do the most amazing omelets to order... :)

I would also recommend Sanaa if you are wanting a better experience with the animals. Sanaa looks out onto one of the savannahs and you can easily get to the viewing areas from the restaurant. If you are in the area though I would also recommend going over to AKL to look at the animals too as there are different animals in the different savannahs.

Oh brilliant! Thanks for the replies, looks like its Bomas or Sanaa, Sanaa sounds great for dinner, being able to see the animals she'd love that :thumbsup2

even though we have enjoyed Bomas would say Sanna the better of the 2 haven't tried Jiko but unalbe to coment on there

Hi,

I'm veggie and enjoyed meals at Sanaa and Boma. Very different food at each...
Veggie main course at Sanaa is a choice of 4 veggie curries (you choose 2)with rice or 5 grain pilaf.
Boma is a North African buffet with dips, salads, cous cous, rice, veg stew etc. Like some one else said, lots of cinammon, plus dried fruit in most dishes.

Have eaten at Jiko, Sanaa and Boma. We were not so keen on Jiko but like Boma and Sanaa. We eat at Sanaa three weeks after opeining but the service and food already seemed well run, food was good and when we return we will try Sanaa agaib; we had a window table which was great.

Thankyou all for the great input!!
