I am sure I could search for this information but I am a little presed for time and if someone can help me that would be great. We have never stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and would like to in March. The seven month window is coming up quickly. We would be staying a Thursday night and leaving Sunday morning. My questions are as follows: I know that we want a Savanah room but I do not know what building. I do want to see the giraffes. Is is worth it to get the conciege service or should we just get regular accomodations. There are four of us travelling Dh, ds 14 and dd 11. We will probably look at a two bedroom or one bedroom depending on what is available. This will not be a big park trip as we are hoping to enjoy the resort. If Animal Kingdom is not available does anyone else have a favourite resort.

Thanks in advance

The odds of you being able to get a concierge villa are low. Some have had luck booking at 7 months or less but those are exceptions. There aren't that many (five 2BR lock-offs) and demand is high for them.

There are savanna view villas at both Jambo House and Kidani Village. Jambo has the advantage of having a counter service restaurant plus two table service options. Kidani has one table service restaurtant only. However, the 1BR & 2BR villas at Kidani have extra bathrooms (the 1BR has two, the 2BR has three bathrooms) - the Jambo villas were converted from the hotel rooms and have one less bath than their Kidani counterparts.

Whichever AKV building you're staying in, you'll be able to use the pool/amenities at either one.

I agree with RLRDA. It will be very hard to get a two bedroom concierge villa at AKV at seven months out. But you may be able to get a regular, savanna view two bedroom villa (or one bedroom would also fit your family of four).

If savannah view is important to you, do not book concierge. There is no guarantee for that view. We stayed for 5 days in July and had a pool view. It's a nice view, but it's not savannah view.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but what are the chances of getting a CL studio at 11 months in August? I don't want to jinx it as we haven't completed the paperwork yet (waiting on ROFR), but I really want to spend our 10th anniversary in a CL studio in August 2010.

if you call first thing when the 11 month window opens as an AKV owner, your odds should be great. (even if you waitlist it, i'd bet it would come through.)

i wouldn't wait, though. call right when MS opens in the morning.

thanks for the help everyone. I am thinking we will probably go for the view. It sounds like that will give us more options.

Thanks. I knew I would find someone to reassure me on this board. Now to wait for my DVC membership to be complete so I can make my reservation.
