Animal Kingdom Lodge

I've booked a package and will be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (Savannah view). I need your inputs on the following:

1. Where are the rooms or sections with the best view? We would like to see as many animals as possible but are mainly concerned with the giraffes and the zebras. ....And how far are they from the lobby?

2. Which is the best floor to be face to face (sort of) with the giraffes?

3. I was told that they are doing constructions on the Animal Kingdom Villas. Which room should I request to be away from it. DH and I are planning a relaxing week and we don't want to hear or see the construction/pool/crowds.


Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

We loved our room on the 4th floor, Ostrich Trail, Sunset Savannah. That being said; right now it is best to avoid that savannah because of the view of construction. We saw animals all hours of the day, even at 5am they were all outsied our balcony sleeping around the watering hole. I hope we have just as good of luck this year.
