We recently booked the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas and just received our confirmation. It is for a savanna view and it had Jambo written next to it. Is that a certain section of the resort, or is that a term used at AKL that I'm just not familiar with, and if so what does it mean? We're also booked the last week of September, any idea how the construction will be then? Thanks in advance. :)

The only villas open by Sept are in the main lodge and "jambo" means Hello or welcome of something I cant quite put my finger on at the moment.

The DVC section of the current AKL building is called Jambo House.

The new DVC complex (villa buildings, restaurant, pool) that's being constructed at AKL will be called Kidani Village.

Wow-- I didn't know these were opening already! Does anyone know the rates?

I booked it through Disney Vacation Club Member services.

jlx2, if you are not a DVC member, you are very lucky to get a room. As far as I know, most rooms are booked solid by DVCers! I also don't know how you booked through the Vacation Club number, as that is for members only!

Oops. I forgot to mention that we are DVC Members. :)

jlx2, you should use the DVC listings that are further down on the list on the main page! The info there is better for vacaion club members! I didn't mean to be rude, but others can't use that number and it could get confusing!

Thank you, I'm sorry for the confusion. I'll post there from now on.
