I read in a guide book that the hotel offers transportation to non-Disney areas for a fee. Does anyone know anything about this? Thank you.

No I have never heard this before. I have never heard of any of the resorts transporting guests anywhere but to WDW areas.

My guess is that they are referring to either Taxi's, or the Mears Shuttle, which provides scheduled shared ride services to Universal Orlando, SeaWorld, and Orlando International Airport.
