Animal Kingdom Lodge on points??

Hi!

Last week we made ressies for the second half of our mid-June 2002 vacation at our home resort, Vero Beach. In November, we will be able to book the first half. Our first choice is VWL, then BWV, then OKW, then we will go from there.

We were wondering if we could stay at AKL on points, and even if it is worth considering. I have a point chart for the Disney Collection for 2001. I e-mailed DVC and asked for the 2002 chart, but it is not available and I didn't even see it on their web site.

Does any one know the amount of points needed for AKL during the week in mid-June?

Another question....when using points for Disney Resorts other than DVC, what type of room/ view do you get? Is it standard view, water view, etc??

The 2002 Disney Collection point chart is usually included with the fall Vacation Magic magazine. (I don't expect much change,if any, from 2001.)

AKL is incuded on the member's website point chart for 2001. From June 11-30, weekdays are 37 points per night and weekends are 71.

Usually, a points reservation at a non-DVC resort gets us a "run-of-the-house" room, which means the best room available when we arrive. They will not guarantee views, but you may still request a view.
