Do you think this would be hard to get if I am booking 7 months out? I'm booking through DVC for the first time and I'm wondering if I should book my home resort now, just in case. It would be the first week of May 2011, 2 separate 1-bedrooms.

Thank you!

I got AKV, savanna view studio, yesterday for spring break. I had my choice of Kidani or Jambo. I only took it for 2 nights (March 11-13), but it was available for my entire length of stay (11-17). I chose to do a split stay though.
I'm guessing for the first week of May you're probably fairly safe, and I expect you'll be able to get units SOMEWHERE on property at 7 months out. But it's always safest to reserve your home resort and then change.

This past May we stayed at AKV at Jambo in a 2 bedroom savanna view. I booked at 11 months at OKW, but I booked it for June, which is what we had planned. At 7 months I switched to AKV, then last minute DS said he could get a week off of work in May, and DD was graduating from college the first week of May. I called the end of March and was able to switch from June to May, so I was very happy especially at 2 months out. You will love AKV. But I would book your home resort and then switch, just in case it is busy.

To echo what the others have said, I don't think you will have any problem getting AKV at 7 months, but would certainly book your home resort as a "free" insurance policy that insures you will have somewhere reserved.
