I'm turning 50 and my dad 79. We were at WDW over 10 years ago. I'm going for 7 days and my dad 5. Going Nov. 25-Dec. 1. Thanks in advance for your input! :)

I already have fast passes for AK on Wednesday in the AM. My dad has to leave the park around 4:30 so he will miss seeing Avatar at night as well as Rivers of Light show. Should we come by another evening to so he can see these?

I would think only you and him could answer these questions. Do you want to see Avatar at night?
I do and he said he doesn’t care. I can always go on another night alone. I’m wondering just how cool it is to see at night. Also wondering how good the River of Lights show is.

I like AK park as a whole at night so much better. Evening EMH's were our families favorite! Now adding Pandora at night, the Tree of life show and the sunset safari AK is just so much fun at night.

We are scheduled 2nights at AK and one AM. As you have park hoppers, I personally think it's worth it! Pandora during the day is really amazing, but at night I think it's spectacular and not to be missed.

Also, I know Rivers of Light seems to get overwhelming bad reviews on just about any Disney fan group I've been in BUT we love it a lot.

I've seen it twice this year with FastPass+ and will be seeing it again in a little over 3 weeks and very excited. I think the lack of fireworks (necessary) diminishes it for some but I find it beautiful, relaxing, and moving. Our group had 11 year old, 30 year old, 44 year old, and 50 year old.

ETA: And it's been packed to the gills both times I've been.

Great to hear! Thank you!

I plan on going! Thank you!

Yes, it's nice, except for when they cancel your late FPs and close Pandora before dark without warning. /Anger

Not cool! Why would they do that?
Not sure. The park was scheduled to close early that night anyway, but at 7pm. The night before we got an email saying our 6pm safari FPs were cancelled. And we didn't know Pandora was closing at 6pm until we got to the park that day and saw some signs.

Totally unfair! They should have compensated you in someway.

They're probably thinking that's what the replacement anytime FPs are for, but we weren't in Pandora at night to ride anything. It's just one of a few complaints about this trip that they will hear about...and I usually don't do that.
