Animal kingdom DVC Resorts Question

Hi again everyone,
My wife and I (mostly me) have NEVER stayed at either Kidani Village or Jambo House and need some help to choose which one would be better for our first time ? thanks we appreciate all your input and if matters we are going mid September.

We are staying at Jambo House for the first time in May and staying on rented points.

We chose Jambo over Kidani for the livelier and larger lobby, the QS options, closer access to Boma and Jiko, a more adult pool feel (no splash pad) and hopefully a better chance of getting a partial Savanna view even though we booked standard.

What room size? If you're talking studios, then both are very similar. I agree Jambo will offer closer proximity to most of the best dining options, and the large store. Kidani rooms are laid out a little nicer (in our opinion) and the ability to park your car (if you have one) under the resort near an elevator close to our room is a big plus. You'll have access to both sides of the resort no matter which side you stay, so you can access both pools, both lobbies, all the restaurants, all the animal viewing areas, etc - most very walkable.

If you opt of a 1BR villa instead, then the extra bathroom included with the Kidani rooms is a very big plus for us. Hope you enjoy the resort as much as we have for decades - one of our favorite resorts anywhere, not just Disney.

We prefer Jambo. There’s alot more rooms in Kidani though, and we love the resort enough to accept Kidani if nothing is left at Jambo.

Jambo is more convenient for eating and going to the pool, pretty much from any of those rooms. We’ve been all the way on the end of Kidani and it felt a bit isolated.

We own at AKV Kidani but have not stayed there yet. We always stay in Jambo for the convenience of the bars and restaurants. We love the resort.

Both are wonderful and we go back and forth b/t the two on alternating stays if possible. Even if you stay at Kidani, there is a small shuttle bus that goes b/t the resorts about every 10 mins or so and is very convenient. When staying at Kidani, other that the QS at Sanaa for some meals, it's easy to go to the front entrance and hop the shuttle over to Jambo for more shopping and the restaurants.

We always choose Kidani, because we've always stay 1 or 2 bedroom, and want the extra bathroom. That's the main reason. We do like the parking at Kidani, and the bus picks up there first for parks.
I would like to try Jambo though. We are often there, even when we stay at Kidani. It's a very easy walk between the 2. We did have the Pembe savannah view once tho, at Kidani, and that was not preferable. I think Jambo has more consistent savanna views. But we've enjoyed all of our Kidani stays, love the AK resort.

I stay at Kidani more often than at Jambo, but I much prefer Jambo. Unfortunately, though, since I need a savannah view accessible studio, Kidani seems to be more often available. But Jambo has the better CS, gift shop size, more access to outside viewing, and I love the small lounge (can't remember the name) by the DVC desk that overlooks the Sunset Savannah (Sunset lounge?)

We stay at Kidani and ask for a room beside the Zazu elevator. Best of both worlds as the Kidani rooms and car parkl are better and from the Zazu elevator the Jambo lobby is a short 5 min walk.

We stay at Kidani and ask for a room beside the Zazu elevator. Best of both worlds as the Kidani rooms and car parkl are better and from the Zazu elevator the Jambo lobby is a short 5 min walk.

And to those who wish to rely on bus transportation, I'd recommend to request to be near Timon elevators as those are closest to the bus lot.

Me, I prefer being near the Rafiki elevators so I am near the pool and hot tubs. I love Kidani's pool area.

Touringplans has a resort map with all room types, yes there are 2 bedroom villas by the Zazu elevator.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2nd floor near Zazu in October (Room 7252). The views were amazing. Now the walk is long-ish to the lobby but it is a short hop to Jambo. Now we like walking lol.

Personally I love the pool at Kidani. It has more nooks to get a lounge chair, the pool bar is very large, the grilled cheese is great. It is more secluded and shaded.

We are AK DVC owners and have stayed at both Jambo/Kidani. While the lobby and overall feel of Jambo is grander the actual Savanna views are better at Kidani. Especially on the second floor (we always request 2nd floor and thankfully have always received it).
