Wondering what your opinions are on animal kingdom at night? Like would you give up a nighttime experience at another park to see animal kingdom ( especially pandora) at night? Specifically thinking about picking over the star wars show or fantasmic.

1: Don't enjoy it and look for other activities instead
2: Mediocre, only if in the park, wouldn't give up another experience
3: Like it and do it every so often
4: Love it!

Thanks!

Animal kingdom is my favorite park. It depends on what you want to do really. The Star Wars show at DHS is a must do in my opinion as well.

I would do AK at night at least once if you’ve never done it and decide for yourself if you want to continue doing it.

Pandora in itself is worth seeing at night.

Pandora is beautiful at night! I sat around waiting for it to get dark back in October just to experience Pandora at night and it was so worth it.

I did AK at night in 2009. It was amazing. EE at night is something else.

I love it. I never did it until my last trip and now its a must for me to make an evening for it going forward. That park is one of the most beautifully lit of the four of them. Also Everest at night is an entirely different experience. Scarier for sure!

It's really hard to answer your question. Are you not staying for 4 days? If you are staying for 4 days and depending on when you go, you can catch Fantasmic and the Star Wars Fireworks in one night. Then you could split Happily Ever After and Illuminations to 2 other nights. Then your AK day, you can see Rivers of Light (early show) and then make your way to Pandora at night.

AK is my favorite park, but I was also not as impressed with Pandora at night than I thought I would. I would still experience Pandora at night, but I actually prefer Pandora during the day.

One of the nights I have a dinner reservation at Victoria and Alberts at 5:30 pm. The consensus seems like that is a 2.5-3 hour experience so that is really taking up one night I would otherwise go to the parks. I feel like I need MK at night and World Showcase, but I have to pick between HS or AK for the other night? I am having a really hard time picking lol. Unless you think V and A isn't worth it :)

Yeah, I am a 4.

Pandora is stunning but even before it was built, I loved AK at night. I still remember years ago doing an EMH at night for the first time, and being so wowed by how different it was from daytime. It's dark with punches of color, and peaceful yet festive. With the Tree of Life Awakening and the Musicians & Dancers .... it's very special.

Fantasmic ............ sea of humanity and the whole process of getting in, waiting and then getting out just make it more aggravating than it's worth to me. Of course I've seen often and it's the same old same old. It's Disney characters ..... and I think doing something more artistic and unique is more appealing to me.

SW Show ............ well, the old fireworks show was awesome, made your heart pound and gave me goosebumps. This one is okay. It's very "flat" since projections, minimal fireworks and you really have to get in the perfect central spot to enjoy it .. and hope no one tall is in front of you since it's mostly low.

I have actually eaten at Victoria & Albert's. It is highly worth it. Don't get rid of that reservation.

I am someone that enjoys the shows/entertainment a lot. For that reason (and the reasons you gave), I would see Fantasmic/Star Wars Fireworks than see Pandora at night. I say this ONLY if you are going to AK during the morning/afternoon on another day of your trip.

If you want to see Rivers of Light, that is another option. I actually enjoy ROL more than the WDW version of Fantasmic.

I watch your videos! Just discovered you a couple weeks ago on youtube! This is the first time I am doing a partial solo trip, so I enjoyed your solo travel videos. What was your favorite solo experience you have had?

I don't want to hijack this thread, so I'll DM you :) But thanks for watching!

Edit: oh boo well i realized you're too new for DMs and since this is your thread ill just put my answer here lol

I think my favorite experience isn't just a sole thing, it's just in general enjoying the streetmosphere and performers on my own time and really taking it in. It's not just "oh hey the mariachi band is playing, wanna stop for 30 seconds and then keep moving to Frozen?" like...no, I want to stand here and watch the whole show! And I really enjoy being able to do that in whatever park.

But also, there's something to be said for those moments waiting for a ride when that cast member calls out for 1 rider. I have skipped DOZENS of people that way and it's really awesome; i don't feel embarrassed or anything, i just feel super special haha.

What parks are you going to solo? Let me know if you have any specific questions I'd love to help!

I’m a part of what I’m guessing is the minority. I love AK...it might be my favorite park...but I’m not impressed with it at night. I would stick around if I were already there, but it never crosses my mind to visit it for the sole purpose of “experiencing” it. Pandora underwhelmed me at night. It’s ok. You should see it and judge for yourself. I like it a lot more during the day and notice a lot more details then. I thought a lot more would be “bioluminescent” than they have.

It took me a total of about 5 minutes to see Pandora at night. I would not choose looking at the green and blue glow-in-the-dark paint speckles in the Pandora section over Fantasmic or the Star Wars show.

I'd pick DHS at night over AK, though AK is really lovely at night.

I'd pick AK over Illuminations as well, especially if you've seen all that before.

Haven't seen Pandora but will soon, but even before it was nice with the Tree of Life and ROL

We walked through Pandora at night and it took 5-10 minutes at most. And that included a swing through the giftshop. It's pretty, but it's really small and difficult to see. I would not plan an entire evening just to walk through there. You can't see much detailing at night.

If you want to experience ROL, ride Everest, see the Tree of Life, etc then it might be worth it. We love Everest in the dark.
