are the exhibits where you can see animals close up ( not on the safari ride) still open. It’s been a while but seems like there was place to seethe hippos under water thru a glass wall. Maybe gorillas too. Can’t remember exactly?

Yes all the animal trails and most of the regular exhibits are opened. The only one that's closed right now is the. Tamarin monkeys next to Starbucks and the petting zoo area of rafiki's planet watch

Yes, the Gorilla Trail (at the exit of the safari) is open and lets you see animals close up. There's a few other trails throughout the park as well.

Thanks. My 1.5 year old grandson loves Disney +s Magic of Disney Animal Kingdom. Can’t wait for him to see the safari and animals up close!
