Animal kingdom am emh

I am brining my nephew who is not staying onsite. With am emh will he be allowed in but not to ride the rides or not allowed? I'm wondering if it is how they are doing magic kingdom.

Also for rider swap: Does everyone need a do or not? I don't know if one of the kids will ride expedition Everest or not. I have a go for myself and his brother but not him and my husband.

Please tell me the rules.

They will scan MagicBands or Cards prior to the park entry and will not be allowed in the park for AM EMH if not staying at an eligible Disney Resort.
For PM EMH, they scan MagicBands/Cards checking for a room reservation before letting you into a ride queue.
