Animal Kingdom a major Flop!

I love the archetecture of the park like the ruins and village however the park has done nothing for me. i can never get really excited about it plus i don't know if anyone else has experienced this but when the temp is hot, the park is boiling!

Ak is my favorite, definitely the most beautiful of all Disney parks.

It does need more, but in general I disagree with your attitude about Animal Kingdom. It is a great park. If you go to Disney simply for rides then this is not going to be one of your favourites, but there are hidden gems all over that place.

Wow - calling a park that is in the top 10 theme parks in attendance a "major flop" is a bit of a stretch. I'm guessing the OP was just trying to attract attention to their main point when they came up with that title.

We love AK not for the thrill rides but rather for the nice relaxed way you can tour this park. Lots to see and do if you aren't rushing from one major attraction to another so you can check off the been there, done that box.

Actually, in 2011 DHS was the least visited park at WDW.

As it rightfully should be! :rolleyes1

I love threads like this, because they're the reason why I can always accomplish whatever I want in AK. :thumbsup2 But on the other hand, I don't agree with the creation of such negative threads just to stir up controversy and draw as much attention to oneself as possible. As much as I dislike DHS, I certainly wouldn't make an entire thread to share that with the world, while insulting the park in the thread title.

Some people can't appreciate the Magic of Disney if it's not slapping them directly in the face with a Mickey-shaped glove, so I'm never surprised when folks who visit AK one time with a printout of check boxes from some touring plan say "is that all?!" when they've done all, oh, four or five attractions on their 'list'. But that's the beauty of Disney...we all get something different out of it. It's just as much about as what WE put into our trips there than it is what Disney presents to us.

The OP wants more rides. There are people who are fine with the park the way it is. Will Avatar have rides? That's supposed to be a large addition, isn't it?

I have to say, I love animal kingdom, its not my favourite, however i don't consider any of the disney parks a "Flop", they all have their own appeal and just because it doesn't have all of the "Thrilling" rides, doesn't mean its a bad place to go :D

This thread originated in 2010, and was 'resurrected' by someone yesterday, about 10 posts ago- hence the term 'zombie thread'. fyi

Edited to add: you beat me to it rlduvall!

I think Disney is well aware that its work isn't done,

Walt himself said that Disneyland would never be complete, and I'm sure he'd feel the same way about WDW.

I haven't been to Animal Kingdom in a while, we've just never had the time, but I want to go back. What I remember of it I love, and since we'll be there for a week next trip, I think we'll finally get to go back!

AK isn't just about rides and shows. It's also about the ANIMALS, since it's ANIMAL Kingdom. And the themeing is gorgeous, I really think Disney outdid themselves when they did Animal Kingdom. It's a really neat park. It's a shame that all most people think about is rides, rides, rides, nothing but rides, instead of looking at the animals, or taking in all the beautiful details that were put into it.

But, to each his own. Everyone's got an opinion. The OP just doesn't like AK.

EDIT: Why would anyone want to "ressurect" a thread like this?
