Has anyone ever purchased a resort stay on Ebay before?

I'm watching one now for a 2 bedroom Villa at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Does it mention anything about a $95 service fee or anything? If so, that would be an RCI exchange into DVC and selling those reservations is prohibited by RCI and could be cancelled by RCI. So if it looks anything like that, I would stay far away. Personally, I would only rent a reservation thru either David's, or a board member here on the DIS DVC Rent/Trade board or another large reputable DVC owners site that is out there.

It does!! A $95 resort fee! I have friend that bid on it, and now I'm worried for her!
Thank-you for this information!!

I would let your friend know what the $95 fee means. RCI does look for these 'illegally' sold reservations, and they do cancel them when they find them.

Like Vicki, I would only rent from a reputable business like DVC By Request, or from our rent/trade board here on the DISboards.

Does that mean if she won the auction, she could lose all her $$? I don't know how ebay works, so I'm not familiar? Can you withdraw a bid?

Now I'm toast! Just found out my DH placed a bid! He thought I said to go ahead, but he read the message wrong!
Now I'm freaking out..I am so thank-ful for people like you and others on this board that are so helpful! I don't know what to do now, but I will have to figure something out!

I believe there is some way to retract a bid on eBay, but you would have to check their rules to see what they say.

Turns out I'm in the clear! My DH didn't bid after all! He was "pulling my leg" not nice, but he said he didn't trust it either even when I did in the beginning.

Thanks again to everyone for all your help! Now, I just hope my friend is good as well!

Cheers!!! :)
