My mom had to go to the mall to get an outfit for this thing tomorrow, so I tagged along to look at the new books in our local book store. I was just looking around. I picked up Animal Farm on a whim and started reading. I was through the first two chapters before my mom came and found me. We bought the book as we were leaving.

I'm finished with about the first forty pages, around 90 to go. I don't want spoilers, because I am really enjoying this. But does anyone else like this book? :)

::yes::

It's a classic. If you haven't figured it out, it is a satire on the Russian Revolution.

"All animals are equal . . . but some animals are more equal than others."

By the way, you may want to read "1984", also by George Orwell.

I've read 1984. I really liked that one. This one looks like its going to be just as good. :goodvibes

My 14 DS is reading this in his Freshman Language Arts class. I don't think he wants to admit it but I think he likes the books because he keeps talking about it with me.

I guess I'm in the minority. I really didn't like Animal Farm.

But, I'm also not a politics person, either.

Heh. Me either.

Four legs good. Two legs bad.

Good book. I had to read it in highschool, but very interesting. There have been a couple movies made from it. One was a couple years ago on cable. It is probably on DVD now.

We are all equal and then we are not. We may be hidden. We may have already been asked to leave or we may have not. Sounds like a great topic!

Everyone should read it. History has a tendency to repeat itself.

and it would do us all good to remember these words:

"Bahhhhh, four legs good , two legs bad.....four legs good, two legs bad....."

when we hear politicans and pundants repeating, repeating, repeating, themselves. After all, if the SAY it often enough, it must be true!

Good book. I was also a big fan of Watership Down.

I liked the book alot. Made me question if I was a mindless sheep.
