Animal Crossing Issues...

I have Jeremiah too ... I can't help but sing "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog ... he was a good friend of mine..." :rolleyes1

Same here!!! My son looks at me like Im nuts but was amazed that my husband guessed what kind of animal he by just hearing his name. ;)

After 5 hours of Festivale, we have a great desire to do bad things to Pave. It was only at the very end of our session that he finally began asking for candy that we actually had. Anyway, many duplicates of Pave furniture. Let us know what you folks may need and we will do the same.
My real lack of talent at rock-paper-scissors did me in. Catching a stringfish in the middle of all this made the game losses easier to accept.

Today I broke my no time travel rule. I just got frustrated with the loss of snow and wanted everything to look new again. So I had all 4 of my characters fill thier houses with all of the flowers in town so that they would not wilt. And then I went through the long proccess of time travelling day by day by day by day. It took 8 hours of my life, and there were 6 casualties: I lost Clyde, Whitney, Jambette, Kody, Groucho, Gwen, I was devestated by the loss of the first 5, happy about the loss of Gwen. I will especially miss Clyde and Whitney.

On the bright side my town now looks great there is snow everywhere, the flowers were put back and I have a "perfect town". And I did gain 6 new neighbours: Miranda, Apollo, Gigi, Champ, and the two who show the most promise the squirrels Nibbles and Poppy (they are so cute).

So in conclusion it worked out well to me and I think is a good idea for anyone to try if they are short on snow and have no life :rotfl:

ps. I hate Festivale!!

I'd love grass, I don't think I'd ever be able to spend that amount of time.
How many days back did you go??

I have a question for this group of experts.... what's the deal with Flea Market day? I put out a bunch of stuff to sell in my house - furniture, fish, bugs etc. but I can't seem to get anyone to come over. I had one customer in the morning and that was it. I fast forwarded to the afternoon and no one has come by. Is it just random or is there some trick to getting the animals to come in my house.

On the bright side, I got my first coconut so hopefully I planted that properly.

TIA :goodvibes

The flea market seems too much like a real life garage sale to me. You are stuck waiting around at home hoping someone shows up to buy stuff, which isn't very fun. Unless you have some high dollar fish to unload you can make as much money in the same amount of time by selling the stuff to nook along with some fruit.

Error Code: 86420

If you get error code 86420 only some of the time, chances are this is temporary and the issue will resolve itself. We encourage you to keep trying.

If you are consistently getting error code 86420 and you are unable to make a connection with other players, the troubleshooting below may help resolve the issue. If the following troubleshooting doesn't help you, or you would like more specific assistance, please fill out our online form to provide us the details of your situation.

When does this error code appear?

Occurs Immediately (Super Smash Bros. Brawl): If the error code occurs immediately after selecting "With Anyone" (not friends) from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, our servers may be experiencing a high amount of traffic. Please try to connect again later.

Occurs when looking for a match (all games): If the error code occurs after the matchmaking process has started, it is likely an indication of NAT negotiation problems. Try the connection again later. However, if the error still occurs regularly after matchmaking has been running, even for more than a minute, please read the following instructions:

Do you receive this error every time the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection attempts to find a match for you?
If you receive this error every time, please proceed to step #2 on this page.
If you receive this error only when playing a particular friend, then it is likely a problem with the friend's firewall settings on their connection. If possible, ask your friend to try troubleshooting on this page.

In order to solve this problem, you may consider adjusting your router's Port Forwarding settings*. Each router is unique, so consult the owner's manual for your router or contact the manufacturer for specific information on working with your router's ports. For your information:
If you are prompted for a device or profile name, you can enter anything you like (such as Wii, etc.).
The starting port to open is 1, the ending port to open is 65535 (or as high as the router will allow).
Protocols will need to be set to UDP only.
Set the IP address for the ports to forward to the same as the Wii's static IP address. If you don't know what the Wii's IP address is, the best way to determine it is by performing a manual setup:
How to manually configure the Wii's IP address:

The first thing you'll need to do is find out what IP address range you should be using. To do this:
Click the "Start" button in the lower left-hand corner of your computer.
Next, you will need to access the command prompt. To do this:
Windows XP users click "Run."
Windows Vista users click inside the search bar.
Type "cmd" into the box and press Enter.
Type "IPCONFIG/ALL" and press Enter. The IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS servers of the PC will be displayed.
The IP address you are going to assign to the Wii must be 10 digits higher than the PC's. (e.g., 192.168.1.100 becomes 192.168.1.110). The Wii and the PC must have different IP addresses. Make note of what IP address you will assign to the Wii. Enter in the exact same values for your Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Secondary DNS. They must be the same for your Wii console and for your PC.

You will now need to manually assign this new IP address to your Wii console. For step-by-step instructions on how to do this, please click here.

After you perform the manual setup, the Wii will initiate a connection test. If the connection tests fails, then please review the values you entered. If you still cannot complete the manual setup, please give us a call at 1-800-255-3700 in the USA or Canada for assistance.

Ensure your router has the latest firmware installed. Visit your router manufacturer's website and look for any updated firmware that may be available (these are typically found under "downloads" or by searching for your particular model number). Note for users with Netgear routers: The firmware for your router must be downloaded from Netgear's website. Using the "auto update" feature from your router settings page may not get you the most updated firmware.

Try disabling the firewall* (also called SPI firewall). Netgear routers have this setting located under the "WAN Setup" tab of the router settings page. Other routers usually have it located under the "Security", "Firewall", or "Filter" settings. It may be possible to keep the firewall enabled by configuring it a certain way. For assistance with configuring your router firewall, refer to the router instruction manual or contact your router manufacturer. The ports that must be open are UDP ports 1 through 65535 (or as high as the router will allow).

Try enabling the "DMZ" feature of the router and setting it to the Wii's IP address (see the instructions above on manually setting up the Wii's IP address).

The Error Code may be caused by connecting multiple routers together on your home network. "Chaining" multiple routers together may cause NAT negotiation problems. If you are experienced with configuring multiple routers together, then you will want to repeat the troubleshooting steps listed above for every router on your network. However, when setting up port forwarding and DMZ, use the IP address of the next device in the "chain" instead of the Wii's IP address.

A simpler solution that does not require configuring multiple routers would be to connect the Wii directly to the first router on the network (the router that is directly connected to the modem). If this first router is maintained by an administrator other than yourself, such as many routers found in office buildings, apartments, or dormitories, then you will need to contact the administrator for assistance.

If you are connecting via the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector, the troubleshooting above regarding multiple routers applies. Try connecting your PC to the first router on the network, or try using the configuration settings on this page regarding port forwarding, DMZ, and firmware updates to try and solve the connection problem.

Lastly, the error may be caused by a basic setting on the router that needs to be adjusted (such as the channel). Please review our general router troubleshooting.
If this troubleshooting hasn't helped you, or you would like more specific assistance, please fill out our online form to provide us the details of your situation.

Hi Honey, did you know that you can sell excess Pave stuff for many bells!!! Save some for me.:woohoo:

Regarding Flea Market, I have noticed that the animals that are out and about are the ones that come and see you. I usually set up for the Flea Market the night before (which of course messes up the House Academy rating), then the next morning, I walk around and visit with all my neighbors, then I return home. Usually with in 5 minutes I have a visitor. This Flea Market, I noticed that only 5 out of 10 animals came to visit. I knew that there were more outside but they just didn't come in. So for an experiment, I time traveled back a day, walked around for a minute, saved, then time traveled to the Sunday. The animals came in and bought what was left.

I then mailed the rest of the stuff as gifts or sold it to Nook's.

One thing I really dislike about this game is that you can't buy extra dressers or cabinets because they are all connected together.

I'd love grass, I don't think I'd ever be able to spend that amount of time.
How many days back did you go??

I went forward 5 months, I know it can take up to 6 months if your town is a wasteland, which mine very nearly was. It really was very time consuming, but I guess you could do it over a few days instead of one big hit all at once.

I find this annoying too - I have started a new character now so I can store stuff there too. I don't want to leave stuff in my house as it may affect my HRA score. I guess you could save items in the stored mail but it's a pain to go and get it out again esp. as you can only hold so many letters in your pocket

I think they could have done a lot more with this game as I'm sure once I've played for a year I'll be a bit bored. But then I guess they'll bring out another game :headache: It would be good if you could use the Wii points and buy add ons.

:scared1: Think I'll be telling the family to find a different past-time as this is Chinese to me :confused3

Someone had an interesting tip for time traveling to get grass back without losing the flowers. If you notice, or can find 3 days in a row where it rains or snows, make note of those dates.

To regrow grass/snow you have to set the clock forward a day, load the game then save it, set forward another day, etc. Instead of going forward every time, keep going back and forth within those same 3 days. Then it will always be raining or snowing and the flowers will be kept watered until you are done.

Do you know if this is time specific? I've noticed it's not always snowing all day - it'll start/stop at the top of the hour.

Good idea though as you can keep around the same time of year.

Agreed! :rotfl:

Me, I just power the router off and on, and it sometimes works. I am easily satisfied....

Okay it is 5:30 pm, my time, and Pave' is driving me nuts. If I receive one more end table from him, I am going to throw it at him...:lmao:

A lot of my animals keep talking about how another town has a fountain and why don't we have a fountain. Plus some of the animals are telling tales of others in other towns, supposedly told to them by those animals. My animals keep asking about kirkjan and what a party peep she is. And that parrotthead lois is a big fishing fan. I didn't think my animals have ever talked to you guys. But they do tell me that your animals are talking about you to them. Gee I am afraid of what my animals will tell your animals about me. :rotfl:

LOl! I love that I'm a party peep!!

I've heard Tom Nook sells an upgraded silver fishing rod. Do I have to do something special to get it? Does he only sell it at certain times?
