Okay gang....we need help.

First we want thank everyone for the fruit gifts and allowing us to visit and get fruit and paths from your towns. We love it, and can't wait to have everyone to our town!!!

Now the help......we are trying to figure out how to plant our flowers and trees. Last night I had to stop playing because I was getting stressed out because I could not decide and determine how to plant our trees. My DS has done all of the paths and is lining them with flowers , but we still need to figure out where to plant our trees. Do we just make certain areas certain fruits??? Do we mix it up a bit??? I showed him that website that was posted earlier and how the acres or something have to have X trees and flowers and we can't figure out for the life of us how to map that out! We did figure out where to plant our coconut trees...so that we are okay on (assuming they all lilve! )

We ended up with a perfect town and truly didn't stress over it. We didn't even know our town was perfect for a couple of days till we figured out why we had the lily of the valley which actually was a Jacob's ladder. If you plant too many trees and ask about the environment, she'll tell you that you either need more trees, or have too many. If you have too many, then just cut down one or two here and there with your ax. We didn't have to knock down very many. And we also just plant flowers here and there, except for the big garden around Greg's house.

We don't have many paths, we've started to a little just to try to keep ourselves from using some areas to try and "grow snow" - I don't know how successful that will be.

The cedar trees grow best on the top level, fruit trees grow all over, and as you know, the coconut trees grow near the shoreline.

We have a nice peach grove on one of the cliffs. Then a Jacob ladder popped up at the end of the grove - very nice

Something we thought about.....not sure if it can be done or not...will there be veggies to grow gardens in the spring/summer? Thought that would be neat to sell and same with the turnips different veggies have different values throughout the week or month.

No there are no veggies for the spring or summer. Which would be kinda cool. No, it is just fruit.

I think your town design is what you would like. For me I have a section of each fruit and then in the middle of my town I mixed all the fruit together. I also did this at the gate. (No coconut trees though). I have a few flower arrangement but mostly just throw flowers everywhere.

I will say this. Be careful planting fruit trees near the paths. When your fruit drops, the fruit has to have a place to drop and if there is not an "open space", then the fruit just disappears. So make sure if you have flowers around the trees, that there are also some free space for fruit to drop. I have lost many bells because of this.

Also walk through other towns and get ideas. I think Nancy (YellowMickeyPonchos) and I have given (stolen...LOL) each other ideas.

But again it is up to you. Look at your town map and see what works for you. And remember this will take some time, but it is totally worth it. Have fun and welcome to AC gardening.

So, to grow a hybrid, you plant 2 different colors of the same type of flower right next to each other and then water both daily? Does one or both of the plants grow into the new mixed color or does a new plant grow nearby? How many days does this usually take?

I planted red and white tulips next to each other and still just have the original plants in the original colors.

The villagers in your town - that seems the best way. I've given ones that Redd has given me to give to someone else don't seem to work for my hubby - who turned down his animal's invite. Once you do that, you never get another one....

Can't he get another one if he goes back to Redd's and goes through the process of knocking on the door, getting refused, etc.

I thought one of my kids did that and got another invitation.

A new plant grows nearby. I'm also waiting for a pink tulip! I now have a hybrid pansy (red and yellow = I think it's orange with another color around the edge) and a pink cosmos (red and white = pink) and an orange cosmos (again, red and yellow).

I'm so jealous of Mirelsa! She has purple tulips (2 reds = purple). so pretty!!!

And Quirky! A black rose - very cool!!!!!!

The invitation to Redd's didn't work. When I first went up to the door it said the same thing....that I didn't have an invitation. So I then sent it to Future Me. When I tried again, they did acknowledge that I had an invitation but said that the person I got it from (Me) wasn't a member so I couldn't use it. Oh well LOL

A third flower will grow from the 2 originals, sometimes you get a 'normal' third plant. I have an orange cosmos, black roses and tulips and an orange rose - so far no hybrid pansies

I think we're due the Nookingtons next, what are the hours? I time travel most days (so I play once each day even if I only play Tues and Thurs for example) so I can time it right for opening.

I'll be on tonight but Nook will be remodelling so I'll have to clear my house in readyness for all the shells and fish I get - it's almost as hard work as real life

I'm excited to pay off my mortgage (is the 300ish grand payment the last one?) I really need to get the book LOL

When I'm all paid up I'll get DH to set up a character so I can
1. give him the cabin set I've been collecting
2. use his paterns for the pathways
3. then create the perfect town - haven't bothered so far as I want to have paths first then move all the trees.

I need a week off work for all this

I totally agree!! Thankfully it is the weekend (and maybe off Monday) and my DH is working so my son and I will be crazy busy with our tournament and town this weekend!!!

Ditto! My girls' night tonight has been canceled and I was so excited to know that I can go home and water my red turnip! I was a little freaked out that I wouldn't be able to water it today and it would wilt or die.

I think I'll be playing like a mad woman on Monday since it's a holiday for me *insert ACCF appropriate smilie here*
