Animal Crossing-City Folk

We got our fantastic town message this morning!!! We are SO excited as we worked so hard on it. We just followed the perfect town info on http://http://accf.wikispaces.com/Perfect+Town

We ran out of flowers so we had to follow having 8 acres perfect and the rest decent (we actually had 20 perfect and 5 decent) and moved flowers around today.

We printed out the grid of our town and put the patterns down and counted everything. If it didnt work today, we were done!!!

Now..we just have to keep it this way!! :goodvibes

O.k. after another foul attempt at the perfect town I gave up and traveled to Easter. :rolleyes1

Does anyone have a list of the entire egg set? Also did you know if you drop candy on the ground you get ants.:scared:

For those of you that have your perfect town, congrats! Could you give your tree and flower to acre ratio pretty please.:flower3: I tried to follow the one I found on line but it was a flop!:upsidedow My family will thank you for your help in my quest for the perfect town.:rolleyes1:lmao::thumbsup2

I can't wait to get to Easter! Have fun with that!

In the guide book it lists 12 items:
Bed
Wall
Floor
Bench
Chair
Wardrobe
Dresser
Table
Stereo
Toy Set
Clock
Lamp

I just happened on my perfect town. I was about to try doing the layout, but it just sorta happened. Follow the link dvcfamily41801 just posted, that will probably do it! Good luck and let us know how it goes! :flower3:

:cool1::cool1: Congratulations on your perfect town!!!! :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about having to keep it that way now! I am really feeling the pressure! :upsidedow Since I didn't layout my town I have no idea which acres are good and which ones are not, so I have been watering and weeding like crazy! I am planting flowers randomly around so if I loose a flower hopefully I will keep my rating!

We finally got our perfect town rating too! I got really desperate this weekend and tried something completely offbeat. Since we had all cleaned up our first floors for the Flea Market, I just pulled every single flower in our town and put them all in our houses so they wouldn't wilt. Then I did the one-day-at-a-time time travel to try and grow some of the grass back in our town. In the meantime, we finally got the fountain we've been waiting for (hate that Serena though, she stole my axe!) After two months of time travelling, I went back to the correct date, and just started replanting flowers everywhere, making sure that I didn't place any yellow flowers next to white flowers, since that combination won't cross-breed. All our hybrids I placed around the fountain, so that we could be sure they all got wateredwhen they needed it. All of that took an entire day, and today when I checked at the town hall, they said our town was perfect.

The bad news is that we lost three residents during the time travel. The good news is one of them was Peewee, the grumpy gorilla. Now we have Elvis, the equally grumpy lion, sigh. And we lost Caroline the red squirrel but kept Nibbles and Mint, who are both green squirrels. DD really wants Nibbles to move out, because Nibbles beat her in the last fishing contest (we didn't have a lot of time on Saturday to play). I just want one of them to leave since it's so hard to tell them apart. Instead of Caroline, we now have Filbert, a blue squirrel. I wonder how the game determines which residents move in and out. At one point we had three squirrels and three birds -- it seemed so strange. And now we keep getting squirrels.

What a great idea! :thumbsup2 Did your grass grow back, and if so, how did it look? So, you went forward 2 months, by traveling 2 days forward every day? And at the point you were 2 months in the future, you went back to the current date? Did I get that right? I really want grass back!

We have a perfect town now and I am trying to hold on long enough to get the golden watering can, but our next "mission" will be to try to get some grass to grow back!

Actually, the way to do it is to start the game, and do not move your character off your front porch area. Save and quit, then use the Wii settings to move the date forward one day. Start the game again, save and quit, use the Wii settings to move forward another day. Keep doing that until you get the level of grass you want. Then start doing the same thing in reverse to get back to the current date, although going backwards you can jump a week at a time without too many bad things happening.

Two months really wasn't enough timeto grow everything back, so it ended up looking kind of splotchy -- like rows of green dots everywhere where the ground was really bare. To do it right, I would have had to keep going a couple more months, but DD didn't want to risk losing all our residents and starting over with a complete set of new ones. In spots where we had just started to wear paths and the grass wasn't too far gone, it looks better.

The problems with time traveling are spoiled turnips if you have any, no red turnip seeds for a week, residents moving out, weeds growing and cockroaches in your house. Although, because our houses were completely filled with flowers, we didn't get the cockroaches -- just make sure you leave enough room in your house to get through the front door! On the positive side, because we had picked all our flowers, we also had a bunch of new ones grow during our time travels, and that was apparently enough, with all the flowers we eventually replanted, to get us a perfect town rating. I did notice that today we had a lot of flowers that needed watering -- it was probably the shock of all the time travel and replanting!

:flower3: Thank you so much for this detailed explanation! I'm going to save it for when the time is right for me to try it in my town!

That's awesome! :cool1: Did it take the full 16 days?

Bunny Day is much easier than Festivale. For every player, there are enough foil things buired for the entire egg set. I actually dug up all of them and only made one trip to the bunny guy. I think we all put the candy away for Halloween.

Can you store the candy in your house? In the DS game, food in your room attracts bugs. So I've wasted my letter spaces on saving candy.

If you have a dresser, you can store it in there. We have candy left over from Festivale in our dressers and so far, no bugs!

Yep, that's what we do> :thumbsup2 I haven't had any bugs from them yet.

We have no grass and I actually like it that way..

There are some insects (like some of the locusts, I think) that won't come around unless you have grass. That's one of the main reasons we really want to keep it. Plus snow will only grow where the grass is, and my kids really like making snowmen, so we're trying hard to keep what we've got.

Today we got our Shark Tooth! :cool1: So now our fossil collection is finally COMPLETE!!! :woohoo::dance3:

:cheer2: Congratulations! I finished our fossil collection just yesterday! :woohoo:

Does a black rose look like a dark purple? I have a dark purple rose today, so I was wondering if that's what a black rose looks like. :confused3

Apparently the grass wearing out thing is a big issue, check out this long thread on Nintendo's site complaining about it and begging for a solution:

I'm afraid to time travel! :guilty: I guess I'm just going to have no grass left in my town eventually! :rotfl:

I don't time travel either. It's March in my town and there's more brown areas than green. Will I get more green when it gets closer to summer? I would hate to have more brown areas when it's summer. I want my summer to have tons of greens. I understand about tracks on the ground due to running and it's the pathway.

Wow! It's a good day in my town today!

I posted earlier that I "think" I got a black rose, it's dark purple (anyone know for sure?). Then it started raining so I hoped to catch a coelacanth... I did! Then Nookingtons opened and there was a silver fishing rod for sale! :cool1: After getting the silver fishing rod I caught a tuna! Wow! This is a good day! The only bad thing is Serena kept my ax ... again! :headache: Oh well... no complaining today! :yay:

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention earlier with all the excitement and all that when I turned on the game this morning Nintendo sent me a letter with a gift... it was a Red Pikmin... which is a red hat that goes under your chin with a pointy top and has a green leaf coming out!

I have no idea what a "pikmin" is! :confused3

That sounds like a black rose to me! :thumbsup2 The purple roses are more of a violet color. I've put several purple and black roses together hoping to get a blue one but no luck yet. I'm also still trying for a pink rose. I thought that one would be easy and I've got red and white roses planted together all over town but still no luck.

Today I got another orange pansy right next to either a purple or black pansy. It looks purple, but different from the other purple one I got earlier, so I'm not sure what it is.

Now that our fossil collection is complete I might try to work on the perfect town thing. The biggest thing for me is finding the time to play here lately. I'll have to carve out a block of time to get working on it.
