as my fb friends will know, i have overcome a massive fear of the dentist and have been in today and had general anisthetic and two teeth removed. was sent home at 11 and told that i was to remain calm and sleep off the GA.
15 mins ago was woken by the door being banged by a friend who has come in with her kids who are now running round my house screaming with my 2, who were calm before:scared1:
i am really really angry with dh, why did he let thhem in, knowing i was supposed to remain calm (low blood pressure) and rest? how is having barking dogs, screaming kids and loud talking adults relaxing???
this is just another example of him not thinking about what is best for me- something which is becoming increasing frequent, he didnt buy my a valentines gift (too busy) brought me a easter egg that i would never eat as it was mars and a NEVER eat mars chocolate (and we have been together 16 years:scared1:)
maybe im just being rediculous but i needed to vent.
thanks

Oh dear hun  men are such inconsiderate idiots sometimes !!! i hope you feel better soon
xx

thanks nat, i think im getting hyper sensitive in my old age, but is it wrong that occasionally, like today, the world should revolve around me?
they have gone now, he has kicked them out after i "spoke" to him, he said ds 12 let them in....now need to explain to him what quiet means!

Well done for coping with the dentist.

Some men????? (My DH had a flaming row with an automated phone machine last night at 11pm - goodness knows what the neighbours think!)

 hope you get to relax now they have gone, some people just don't think do they?

 Well done on coping with the dentist hun. I hope you have a nice relaxing afternoon

 hope you manage to have a relaxing afternoon

I think you need to be having this conversation with him, rather than us to be honest. At least you'll get an apology that way, or at least know that you've made him aware that his behaviour is upsetting you :thumbsup2

dh doesnt do apologies:confused3

Tracy, be proud that you overcame your dentist fear - well done. All I can say about your DH is - HE IS A MAN - and men can be - well not as considerate or thoughtful as a woman, it's just not in their genes all of the time, it comes and goes with frightening regularity!!

Well done though!

Tina

Well done for coping with the dentist.:goodvibes

thanks for all your kind thoughts, the dentsit phobia is the last of a long list of things i said i would put right if i survived my illness last year, and its been the hardest to over come, i have to go back witsun week to have another 3 teeth removed (1 broke and 2 badly filled by a previous dentist:eek:, i also have an appointemtn for friday next week to see if i can let him fix a broken tooth with no anisthetic.
i have stopped smoking, and loads of other smaller things that i said i would do;), and this is the last one, i have been scared of the dentist since i was 5-6, but i broke my front tooth at the age of 9, and have spent hours (and many hundreds of pounds ) having it put back on when the fake tooth came off, about years ago we gave up, removed the root and had it put on a plate.
i nearly miscarried grace when i had a infection in a tooth and dentist insisted on dealing with it, rather than sending me (as i had asked) to birmingham dental hospital), he had a gyneocologist on the phone when my blood pressure shot through the roof, all i can remember was the gyneo saying "she ll miscarry if she gets to **, and the dental nurse shouting out my blood pressure, i was so aware that i was very close to the figure....:sad2:
luckily she is a very strong willed young lady, and i have changed dentists:)
dentists are an irrational fear, i just want to feel happy with my mouth.
now sorting my weight out...thats another matter:rotfl2:

;) you can do that as well...and you know it !!

tbh nat, its the only one im struggling with, i tried doing the CD for a few weeks and lost next to nothing, i need to lose 21lbs in the next 18 weeks, and i know that i have been replacing cigarettes with food, but honestly, i dont eat that much, i am on a massively reduced diet due to allergies (im lactose intollerant, seafood, fish, onion, onion powder, coconut, pineapple) i have to eat low fat following my gall baldder removel (though do cheat occasionally) and eat high fibre due to GB issues to.
yes i eat cake and chocolate (small doses, no cream, no biscuits, no cheese.... dull isnt it? dont know what im doing wrong, have asked dr to check for gluten intollerance and thyroid problems, but both requests have been ignored until i see surgeon again...
so, no alcohol either, you explain why i look like a puffer fish:rotfl2:

Have you tried WW hun, sorry i cant remember if you have ? the only other thing i can suggest is portion control, and maybe you will have to cut out the chocolate etc just for now. if you want to do a daily food diary im happy to go through it with you

thats kind, thanks we have been doing WW but i have lost 2lb and dh lost 12!!! (in 4 weeks:lmao:)
on a restricted (soft;)) for the next week, so going to see how that goes, lol!
may have to hit WW (done WW/SW and CD before) hard if gp is unhappy for me to do CD....
didnt know you were a WW leader?

Well done for overcoming all those things that you have - that's quite some achievement to overcome that many things :goodvibes

On another note - As a member of "that other gender" (and dangerously in the minority on here ;)), I feel inclined to say that I've known just as many girls who have behaved in the ways described in some of the previous posts as I've known guys and indeed I've also known some quite thoughtful guys and girls. So - we're not all as has been described :rolleyes1:tiptoe:
