Welcome Camilla!

If you go back just a few pages on this thread you'll find that many of us spent our honeymoons at WDW! :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Howdy Camilla! It's great to see you here! And Lars, she is our first Scottish riddler - she's just living in England. I made the same mistake when I welcomed her to the riddle thread!

see....i'm getting better....never mentioned it this time

Welcome, welcome, welcome Camilla!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Gail - If you feel terrible while at work - JUST LEAVE! No sense in spreading it around, and you get a quiet household to return to.

Donna and Sue - Have a wonderful and safe trip!::MinnieMo ::MinnieMo

E - sorry I can't help you w/ the knitting thing - my mom makes all kinds of things, but I enjoy shopping for it!

Spb - I remember that episode of I Love Lucy! Like MP says, my favorite is the chocolate episode.

Gotta get moving and find something to wear for work - it's cold out there w/ the temp dropping all day.:(

Good morning all!!! Windy and cool outside... supposed to work its way from upper 20s down to single digits today. Should be fun :p

I think I totally forgot to say this... Have a wonderful trip Donna & Sue!!!!
and if I did say it already ignore me ;)

Merry, I have never crochet or knitted with needles... I used to be able to make certain thing with my fingers (I can't remember if they called it just finger knitting or not) so I figured I ought to give this a try.

Sandi, I would love to see the scarf!! A few friends were talking about how a daughter had just made one and that sparked my interest to make one. I have seen some gorgous hand knitts out there!

LOL, Lars!!! You are so bad :p

Thanks Gail, I'll work right on the scarf for you ;) And I hope you feel better really soon!!!

Hi ther Camilla!!! Good to see you over here!!!! Very nice to get to "meet" you formally! Lucky you going back in May to WDW! I'd love to go then myself, the flower and garden festival is beautiful!

John, I don't think the uniform would be the one to scare her off ;) :p

LOL, Lorraine, you can always enjoy shopping for me as well if you like ;) Sounds liek you guys have the same weather as we do. I hope you stay warm!

Good morning friends.

WELCOME Camilla.:wave2:

E, I know how to knit. I made Sarah a scarf for Christmas and made a hat to match last week. I started a sweater for Jack 10 years ago and am determined to finish it, not that it will fit now. In between I have made vests for the kids and some other things. I could probably help you but you would have to come here, or we could meet inbetween somewhere. Seriously, I will try to help if I can.

A funny story, I was knitting Sarah the scarf as a surprise gift. She came home from school one day and showed me the scarf one of her friends had made her. I had to say how nice it was and not seem disappointed that I had not been the first to knit her a scarf.

Gail, nice of Lew to share. Hope you feel better soon.

Today is the last day of exams and both today and tomorrow are early dismissal. Then no school Monday.

TTFN.

Morning all :wave2:
cold here, -15 with the wind chill. Is it March yet?
Welcome Camilla, this group is very welcoming to new Angels. As soon as I joined I felt like I belonged.
As far as knitting, no help here. Although I love shopping in yarn stores. Scrapbookers and stampers use the really funky stuff for projects. So I buy stuff 1 skein at a time, keep as much as I think I might need and eBay the rest of it. You pay anout .10-.20 a yard when you buy by the skein. I can sually get about .50 a yard on eBay, so I get all my money back and a little bit of profit.
ok, off to bundle up for the bus stop.
Have a good day all :)

Welcome Camilla! It's always nice to meet someone new. Let us know if you want us to all introduce ourselves again.

Gail, take care of yourself! Hope you don't get the cold I had with the never-ending cough. :( And Lew owes you big time since he shared it with you. Maybe a vacation is in order? :teeth:

David is attempting school without the crutches today. I don't know if he'll make it or not. I may get a call asking for them before the day is over. He said his arms were getting too sore. The ankle is discolored, but most of the swelling is gone. He may try swimming today.

I slept like a log. I don't think I moved all night. I feel a little bit better today. My body complains if I don't get enough sleep and I hadn't been getting to bed early enough.

Off to find today's riddle.

and welcome to our newest Angel! Camilla, from Scotland. I place I will visit one day. Our second Angel from across the pond.

Just a quick pop in, I slept late, and I am sure the dogs will want out soon.

Merry, if David's pits are sore, he is using his crutches incorrectly. But it worked for the sympathy factor, at least. Hope you don't get the call. Or the calling, we need you to be the naughty Angel you are.

Gail, go home, drink hot tea.

Ooops, Sadie just got up, now it's time to dress for the artic.............

Hmmmm...not as many knit-wits as I would have expected. :p

Mrs. AA crochets but she hasn't in several years. Her last baby blanket had so much cat hair caught up in it that she had to throw it away...there was just no escape from it in the house and she couldn't see to remove it as she was crocheting so by the time I saw it, it was embedded.

She made me a cool black and purple zig zag blanket for my dorm room in college when we were dating. It looked great under my black light!

Carol, sorry that you weren't the first to give Sarah a hand knitted scarf... that would be a bummer for me. But I bet she loved yours just the same. I think I am just going to do this left handed and see how it goes for me. I am fairly ambidextrious (sp?) and this isn't too shocking that I am having trouble doing it right handed. Although I noticed there are two different styles to the start stitch... one used two needles and one only used one. Not sure why but the one using one needle was much easier for me.

Bethany, I hope you stay warm today!! We are supposed to be getting your weather (cold) as the day goes on!

Merry, I hope David does okay today w/o the crutches!! Must be hard to maneuver those things around!

Morning Marsha! I hope you can stay warm today as well. Must be quite a change from where you used to live!

LOL Alan, I can always coutnt on you for good comments like that. I will say I am a bit worried that the furbabies will get in my way as well. I suppse I will see though.

Back to work :)

Alan, I saw a story on one of those news shows (60 minutes, Primetime, who knows?) about people who pay big bucks to have their pets hiar knitted into hats, scarves, etc. It looked like the hair was woven into other yarn, not just like dog hair or cat hair yarn, if that makes sense. Maybe you shold let her put an advert on the www and make things like that. Am interesting sideline, wouldn't you say? She could try with Winston hair!

I am in the knit wit category, I learned as a child, but it never thrilled me. I find crocheting too hard on my hands, it makes them hurt big time. I guess if I really wanted to knit, I would buy a knitting machine, I am way too lazy! Hey Elaine, it matters not which needle you cast on, all knitting goes form one needle to the other, so it you start casting on on the left, the first knitted row goes onto the right, or you can just switch hands. Switching gets very cumbersome, tho.

Off to shower and get some breakfast, and decide what's for dinner.

Marsha, it's not just his pits that hurt. The first day he had the crutches adjusted too tall. After that, he has been using them with his arms straight and no pressure under his arms. He says his arms are sore. I bet because he's also hauling that heavy backpack around. (They don't have enough lockers this year, so they have people sharing lockers. David prefers to just carry everything with him. That would make me hurt whether I was on crutches or not.) I told him that his arm muscles will be lots stronger for swimming. :teeth: So far, no call.

I'm getting ready to make a grocery list. Guess I need to go shopping again.

You are such a suck up!!!!

Seriously, I don't envy the back pack/locker situation. Too bad he isn't smart enough to get the girls to help carry his junk!

I am going to the store, also. Not for a lot, but Pete needs Coors. Looks like he may be going to Norflok, VA tomorrow.

sure is quiet around here today.................

LOL, y'all are funny!!! And yes it is quiet here...

Hey crock pot queens... I am making spaghetti for our group at work tomorrow... I'll have the sauce simmer in a crock pot over night I think and then I needed to decide on the noodles. No kitchen here so I was thinking that I could do the noodles tonight, but them in a ziplock bag tonight and then tomorrow morning put them in the sauce? Does that sound good?

E - I've never tried anything overnight like that. I would say to put butter on the noodles to keep them from sticking in the bag.
