Morning Gang!

Fell asleep during the Oscars last night....but things got a WEE bit predictable...didn't miss TOO much!

Gail - hope things went as well as they could for your FIL! Keeping him (and the rest of your gang) in my thoughts and prayers...

Carol....the Prom dress is great! Glad you were able to accomplish the mission in one visit! That can SOMETIMES become a challenging adventure!

SB - I'm with you on the major celebration of St. Patrick's Day!!! NEVER too early for a wee bit ' jiggin' and the wearn' of the green (and the downin' of a pint )! ::yes::

Have a great day all!

Valerie

Good morning all! Wasn't feeling so well last night so I missed most of the Oscars... but I was thrilled when ROTK won all 11 they were nominated for!!!! That movie really deserved it!!!! Too bad Johnny didn't win though...

Anyway, I think I'd rather be at home in bed... just can't get motivated today

Enjoy the day everyone!

 Everyone!

Valerie - I fell asleep around 11 watching the Oscars. I kinda figured which one would win Best Picture. I was hoping for Johnny Depp to win though.

Marsha - i bet those kids are really disappointed w/ the exchange.:(

Gotta run some errands today before it starts raining. Of course, DH washed his car and the van yesterday, so it WILL definitely rain today.

What's next, the Kennedy assassination? (That was not me on the grassy knoll!)

SB, you are right about the kids. Since it's the MOMs that usually buy and mail, it is even worse that someone shirks thier duty in an exchange. If you can't send, don't sign up! If you sign up and don't follow through, you will be banned from all futher exchanges. If you organize an exchange and don't follow throught, you will be banned from participating in the future and you can bet that if you try to organize one again, there will be plenty of warnings sent to anyone that signs ups (and posts that they did) to be wary.

Pete did the same, washed the van on Saturday and the car yesterday. If it rains, oh well. The windshield on the van got hit by something whilst he was driving in CT last week, now there is a large crack from the top down to the mirror, tomorrow I will be waiting for the repair guys to come.

Think I will go take a nap. Then I have a lot of stuff to do for a change.

Good Morning!
Left here yesterday morning at 10:00 and didn't get home from the ride until 3:00! Weather was gorgeous! Dressed warm for the morning and had to start peeling off clothes by noon.
It would have been a perfect day except for the fact that I had to go grocery shopping after!

Billy washed my car for me yesterday while I was biking, I might leave it in the garage and take the Honda today.

Gail, saying a prayer for your FIL. Hope everything goes well!

E, sorry you weren't feeling well and missed the Oscars!

I was able to stay awake for the entire show with a nudge from Billy every now and then!

Another day of warm temps, I could get so used to this!

Good morning friends.

DD is staying home today. She started with a cold Friday but was able to do everything she wanted to on Saturday and Sunday, all the while saying she would be too sick for school today. She rarely stays home sick and feels she deserves it. Oh well. Tomorrow is election day in Maryland so the schools are closed. I guess she thought a 4 day weekend would be nice. She is still asleep. I think we will go out this evening and place the order for the dress, if she feels up to it. I anticipate a remarkable recovery.

Spring sports practice starts today and DS is going out for tennis. He has that until 5 and then All County Band practice 6:30 - 8:30. The running around is back.

Off to work now.

near as I can tell without my glasses........

Hello Angels!

Mrs. AA has been sick since Wednesday.:( but seems to be a little better today.

The move was much more extensive than we planned. A friend drove us up there in his truck and 16 ft. trailer. We loaded the heavy stuff and as much as we could take, unloaded it in Montgomery and then drove back Sunday to get the rest of it!

Nevertheless, MIL and her mother are here and have a LOT of unpacking and settling in to do.

Other friends picked my girls up for church since I was on the road and Mrs. AA was ill. During the service they showed a clip of "The Passion of The Christ".....

It scared Lela

Since we have no intention of taking a 6 year old to the film and since children over 5 are expected to be in the sanctuary, we think a disclaimer should have been mentioned before they did it.

It put our friend in an awkward position of not knowing to cover her eyes, try to leave, etc. but she said it all happend too fast for her to even think about it.

No, we aren't THAT mad, but we think it should have been handled differently. Mrs. AA will call the office to voice that opinion in her curteous manner. ;)

Poor Lela. :( I think the movie will be too upsetting for me, also, so I really feel for her.

I stayed up until 10:30 or so for the Oscars. Billy Crystal was as funny as ever.

Carol, you must be psychic predicting that a shopping trip will cure your DD!;)

It's so nice to turn the furnace off and open the windows today! :Pinkbounc

AA, that would bother me. Amy is very soft-hearted. She cries if anything sad happens in a movie and she never watches anything bloody. She's almost 13, but I wouldn't dream of taking her to see that movie. She would be totally freaked out! They should have warned parents! Glad you accomplished the move.

Gail, I can't remember if I told you that I'd keep FIL in my thoughts last night or not, but I did. Hope it all turned out for the best.

Carol, hope she feels better. My kids like those long weekends, too. Amy got out of class Thursday for the play, Friday for honor band, and tomorrow for state band contest. She's quite all right with that. She only hated that she had to go back to class today. ;)

Hope I didn't send the rain toward all of you. The sun is out today, but the morning temperature was cool. I think it is going to be a beautiful day.

I'm sleepy today. We stayed up to watch the awards. I cheered when Nemo won. Amy was thrilled about ROTK's wins (although I must admit I thought it began to get a little predictable after a while). We were all bummed about Depp's loss. I'm not personally too crazy about him and some of his off the wall beliefs, but he was wonderful in that part!

Anyone know what would glue felt to a glass jar? DH needs to make cloud chambers for a merit badge fair. Last time he used epoxy and the felt has come loose. Any thoughts? I told him I'd ask the experts. ::yes::

I wonder what he looks like with glasses then? :p

Alan, I am sorry that they showed a clip of that movie and that it scared Lela (and I am sure others). I agree, warning is everything when it comes to things liket that!

LK, I lasted about as long as you did with the Oscars! I agree, Bill Murray was very funny and I enjoyed watching him!!! Wish I could have seen it all though.

Merry  that was you who sent us the rain???? ;) :p It's nice temp wise today but starting yesterday it's been getting cloudy and not so nice.

Um I have no idea what to use to glue felt to glass... I would probably just use regular glue gun or something. Otherwise I don't have a clue.

Someone at Allen's work suggested aquarium adhesive. Makes sense because it gets wet in the cloud chamber. Now if I can just figure out where to get aquarium adhesive. DH is allergic to making phone calls. His theory is to just start making stops where they might have it, but he wants me to go get it. Guess I need to get the phone book and start calling. I don't want to make 15 stops.

MP: a pet store might have aquarium adhesive

Gail: your FIL is in my prayers also

Alan, that would scare my kids too. I go back and forth about seeing that movie myself, but I wouldn't even think of taking my kids.

DH called me from Vegas this AM. He is not adjusted to the time change yet! He said the conference last night was boring so they left and went to see Mama Mia! He said it was a very clever story set around ABBA songs. He really enjoyed it! ( oh yeah, working hard, honey?????)

Beautiful day here. Too bad it is supposed to rain later! I was out running errands and Sue called me and said she is bringing Chinese food over for lunch. YUM!

 everyone!
