Angelrose's Journey

Nice to see you post again minniecarousel and I'm glad your mom is doing better 4nana.

snappyd, it's hard to get back to the fall and winter stuff after summer. This hasn't been the greatest summer for the pool and I will be calling the pool man on Monday to close it up. It was cool enough yesterday to get out the weed whacker to cut down some of the weeds around the pool. Some of them were shoulder high! Unfortunately I think I pulled a muscle in my arm. Only hurts if I try to brush my teeth or hair or put on my earrings or necklace. I've been icing it and my neck and using Ice Hot on it. Advil is my friend.

I babysat last night so Chuck and Karen could have their anniversary dinner. They went to the Tropicana casino in Atlantic City. They went to the Cuban restaurant there and LOVED the food.

I had trouble getting Zoey to sleep. She screamed and cried and wouldn't stay in bed. Very unusual. But after 20 hugs and kisses goodnight and just closing her door and let her cry it out, she finally fell asleep. Jesse was very good and I let him stay up a few more minutes and he was happy to get to bed.

I read until the kids came home.

I think we're going to Ocean City on Saturday to let the kids on the rides and walk on the boardwalk.

Tomorrow I have the Comcast guy to come and look at my phones. It keeps cutting out. I also have to resetting the modem at least twice a week for my computer. Sometimes more. So hopefully it will be something easy to fix.

I had a big day on Saturday. After I got my hair done I called Karen to tell her I was on my way.

We went to Ocean City for a pirate cruise. That was so much fun. The kids both had a great time. They found treasure, found grog (root beer) and battled a sneaky pirate with water cannons. I was laughing so hard. Jesse was the first one to spy the treasure. It was under a big red X in the water. :rotfl: The treasure consisted of a bunch of little plastic toys. They could each take one handful and Jesse sure got a lot. Zoey got three little bears, red blue and green. She was thrilled.

After the hour cruise we were all ready for food. It was 2:30 by the time we had lunch. We all had gyros. Jesse took 3 bites of pizza and he didn't want anything else. Zoey ate some French fries. Then we took the kids on the rides. They had a wonderful time. After that we played some miniature golf. I had 3 holes in one. Of course the rest of the time I had 3 or 4 strokes for each hole and sometimes I cheated. SHHHHHH don't tell.

We couldn't leave the boardwalk without Kohr Bros frozen custard. I really enjoyed that. We walked back to the car. Jesse and Zoey both fell asleep on the way home. I wasn't far behind.

After we got home we settled the kids in front of the tv and Karen made some restaurant reservations for our Disney trip. Then I asked her to look at the Disney store to find some things for Jesse's birthday and Christmas.

I kissed the kids goodby and got home around 8. I was so tired. I fell asleep watching a movie. I did wake up in time for the news and weather. I slept really well.

It was a fun weekend.

Wow! That sounds really fun! I'd have been asleep with the kids in the car for sure. Such fun memories!

Thank you teacherlisa1978. We did have a great time.

I met Jesse at the bus stop today. He had another great day at kindergarten. He loves it.

Chuck had called me to ask me if I could stay and put the kids to bed tonight. He has chills and fever and really felt bad. He came home at 4:30 with Zoey. She watched cartoons while Jesse went out to play with his friends. When he came in, I made them a quick dinner and let them watch cartoons until bedtime.

Jesse went to bed without a complaint. I think he was very tired. Zoey, on the other hand was crying about everything. She wanted her Doc nightgown. I told her she was wearing the one I got out and she could cry and jump up and down, but this was the one she was going to wear. LOL I wasn't very sympathetic. I kissed her goodnight and gave her a couple of hugs. She wanted me to stay with her, but I wasn't going to do that. Well, she kept calling GRANDMOM and crying. It broke my heart, but I wasn't going to go back in. Finally Chuck woke up and told her she was going to get a spanking if he heard one more peep out of her. (I remember when I said that to Chuck and would say, "PEEP, PEEP". :lmao:

He came downstairs to get something to eat and as I was leaving Zoey got out of her room. I told her to get back in bed NOW.

Karen will be working overtime all this month. She called and said she would try and get home by 7:30. I left a little before that. I hope she made it.

I did get to swim a bit today. It was nice and warm and a little humid. But I hadn't been in the pool for 5 days. Even though I keep the chlorine up and the algaecide in, if I don't swim, it gets a scum on the bottom. I spent an hour and a half vacuuming that all up. I did get a whole 40 minutes swimming in before I had to get ready to go.

Tomorrow I think I can get in early. Maybe swim in the morning too. Just a few more days of swimming before I close up the pool for the winter.

The Comcast guys did come and fix some connections that were just old. That seems to have fixed the problem.

Now I have to wait and see when the pool man can come next week to close it up.

:wave2: Angelrose, snapppyd, minniecarousel, teacherlisa1978, and everyone. :grouphug:

AR, glad you're keeping yourself busy and having lots of fun! Lady, never a dull moment with you is it?! ;)

Belated Happy Anniversary to Karen and Chuck ! Glad Karen is feeling better, but sorry to hear Chuck is under the weather and hope he mends good as new soon. Something going around here too - I went to doc this week for congestion and cough.

Ocean City Pirate Cruise sounds like a blast!! What fun ya'll must have had making special memories! pirate:

Glad Jesse is enjoying Kindergarten ~ the teachers make it so fun and interesting for the little ones. Our youngest DGD started KG also and is really loving it! Matter of fact, thankfully all our grands seem to be settled and liking school/college this year. :goodvibes

Chuck was al lil rascal back in the day, wasn't he - with his one last 'Peep Peep'!?!? :rotfl2:

They say a picture is worth a thousand words! Thought I'd share a photo of my dear sweet Moma enjoying her 84th :bday: party at Rehab center on Sunday :goodvibes. Praise God she is healing well and yesterday her surgeon cleared her to bear more weight - so bring on the walker :goodvibes!!! Again, thx bunches, we truly appreciate your positive thoughts and prayers. :flower3:

Hi 4nana. Your mom looks in great spirits and God bless her on her 84th birthday.

Third day of Kindergarten and Karen already got a call from his teacher. Jesse doesn't respect personal space. Translated, that means he wants to hug everybody. Poor kid has to learn that you can't do that outside of the home. Sad really. He is just used to hugging.

Chuck is feeling much better today thank goodness. He called to tell me he was working from home today so I didn't have to pick up Jesse from the bus stop. He will still come over on Friday and help me chop down some bushes, change a light bulb and get that huge weed that is growing in my rain gutter.

I still haven't heard from my pool man. Hopefully next week. But I got in the pool this morning and this afternoon. It was hot and humid today. I really enjoyed my swim. I will probably get in tomorrow and that will be the end.

I hope we have a better summer for swimming than this year.

Now I have to get back to my aerobics and weight lifting. That just isn't as much fun as swimming.

I will try and get the pictures of Zoey's birthday pictures up this weekend. I have a picture of me at 3 and you definitely see a resemblance. Especially around the mouth. Karen showed them side by side and then a picture of her at 3. We looked like sisters. LOL Unfortunately I can't copy the three of them. I will have to ask her for a separate picture so I can post it here.

I figured out how to get the three pictures together.

That's me, Zoey and Karen all at 3 years old. I think we look like sisters. :lmao:

I finally have time to post the pictures of Zoey's birthday pictures. Hope you like them. This first one I think is my favorite.

Geez, I can't believe Zoey's 3 already! We've all enjoyed watching her grown up on the Dis and read about all the fun you have. :thumbsup2

All of princess: Zoey's BD pix are adorable, she's a doll ~ I really love these 3!!

Hi 4nana. Your mom looks in great spirits and God bless her on her 84th birthday.

Thx AR, with love and blessings to you! :grouphug:

Thanks 4nana. It doesn't seem possible that she is three. Wasn't it just yesterday that she was born?? LOL

I just wish Ron could be here to have her hugs and kisses. It's just hard to enjoy them both so much and know that Ron can't be here. I know he is watching over us and I'm sure he is smiling at both grandkids.

OK no more sad stuff. Ron can watch me put out the Halloween decorations. He loved all the holiday decorations so much.

Zoey is so beautiful and I can't believe she is 3 already! Seems like we were just waiting for her to be born. She does look so much like you.

It's funny how the years fly by. Next month we are attending a wedding for DH's cousin's daughter. I remember going to her mother's baby shower before she was born, and now she is 31 and a bride!! princess:

Isn't it amazing how everyone else is getting older but we are getting younger, lol!? :thumbsup2

Thank you snappyd. I just ordered a set of those pictures for my album.

It is so amazing how everyone grows older except us. I don't know how I have a 41 year old son and I'm still 30. Must be MAGIC :wizard:.

HELLLLO LADIES!

I thought I'd check in. I'm loving hearing everyone's updates. And Zoey is such a cutie...count me among those who can't believe she's 3 already. She is definitley a little girl now, not a toddler - she looks so grown up!

We had an adventure in San Francisco a few Saturdays ago. We took the Ferry across the Bay to SF and went to the tourist spots: Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39. Had crab for dinner at one of the FW restaurants. Then we sat by the Ferry Terminal and watched the lights on the Western span of the Bay Bridge come on. It's so pretty! We took the 8:30 ferry back to the East Bay. We had such a fun time. (we even saw the America's Cup boats still on the water after the day's race - those are amazing catamarans!)

It's a shame that we live so close, yet rarely get over there. My birthday is next month and I think I'll request a trip to the Walt Disney Family Museum at the Presidio, with lunch a Yank Sing - a great dim sum restaurant.

Good to see you again minniecarousel. Thank you for the compliment on Zoey.

We had the Princess and Pirate party Saturday. I got there at 8 to keep the kids occupied while the tent went up and the tables were set out. Karen was blowing up balloons and Chuck went out to get the food around noon. He got a tray of chicken nuggets from Chik Fil A. Since I was starving I had some with Chuck and Karen and the kids. Then Chuck went to get the subs from Primo's. They have the BEST subs. He got a tray of the diablo (Spicy) and a tray of regular. There were so many kids plus their parents. Most the girls were dressed as princesses but there were a couple of pirates. Jesse's cousin had a pirate wench outfit just like mine.

The pirate and Cinderella showed up right at 2:30 and stayed until 5. They really did a wonderful job. Jesse and Zoey were so excited. I helped bring out the food and then stayed out of the way until my cousin Joan showed up with her son and husband. I sat with them and we had a lot of laughs.

Most of the kids left right at 5 but the neighborhood kids stayed until 6 when Karen escorted them across the street. Everyone left except Karen's grandmom, aunt and cousin. I helped Chuck clean up. Many, many, many trips back and forth. But I knew Karen had to have a few minutes to rest her feet and talk with her grandmom.

We brought the left over food inside and let the kids open their presents. They got really nice presents and money.

Here are some of the pictures from the party.

Here is Black Tooth the Pirate with Jesse and a friend.

Hello and Happy October!

Sorry I haven't posted, I was in Florida for a week with my sisters!

Trying to get caught up, will be back soon. Love the new pics!! :thumbsup2

Hi snappyd and welcome back home. Did you visit DW or just a visit with your sisters?

Thank you. I'm glad you liked the pictures.

Hello my friends. I have been very upset the last few days and I have finally calmed down.

I go to Jesse's swim lessons every Sunday. Well a week ago, Karen hollered in to the men's room to ask if he was OK. He was crying because an older boy and grabbed his wet swim suit and hit him in the face with it. Well, she told the teacher and they said the boy would be off the swim team for that and other offenses.

Monday Chuck had to work late and asked me to stay and watch Zoey while Karen took Jesse to swim practice. I said it would be easier if I came to practice with Zoey so I wouldn't have to deal with her bed time crying.

While we were waiting for the practice to begin, who should walk in, but this boy. Karen pointed him out to me and I kept an eagle eye on him. But they had him in the far lane and really worked him hard.

When practice was over, the whole team went to get showers. After a few minutes I hollered in to ask if Jesse was OK. He said he was and would be out in a few minutes.

Well, everyone came out but him. I was just getting ready to go in when he came out, minus his towel and bathing suit.

The boy had thrown his bathing suit on top of the lockers and thrown his towel in a shower and turned the water on. The other older boys did nothing to stop him and just laughed.

I ran in and got his towel and went to tell the teacher. (He's a cutie and Zoey is in love with him). I told him what happened as Karen came up. She had been swimming and had just come out of the bathroom when she saw me talking to Ian.

I was in such a rage. I was just about to tell him that I would not stand for this when I stopped myself. It just wasn't my place to say that. But Karen did. Ian called the other coach and told her he was kicking him off the team. He said that if it was up to him, he wouldn't have given this kid another chance to start with.

He went outside and got this kid and his mother. He just smirked and admitted to it, while he was eating candy. The mother just stood there with a helpless look on her face. Yeah, lady, "I'm sorry" doesn't cover it.

Poor Karen was so upset she thought that she was a bad mom for not protecting Jesse. I told her there was nothing she could have done and the "bad mom" was the mother of that bully.

She emailed the owner and told her that if the boy is back next time, she wants a refund of the family membership and both kids swim lessons. That is quite a chunk of change right there. So we will see what happens tomorrow night. I won't be going because I have WW meeting.

I wasn't going to go to swim practice because I wouldn't get home until 9:30 or 10 and that is too late for me.

I feel bad too because I should have known something was wrong when he didn't come out right away. I should have just stayed right at the door. He will not be going into the men's room from now on. He is just too little to fend for himself. (They have a rule that boys over 6 have to use the men's room to change.) Ian said he was fine with that.

I felt like punching someone all night. It took me a look time to settle down so I could get to sleep. I guess the Grandmom bear came out in me.

Jesse was fine and today he got another good boy award, so he will be getting a present on Friday. I just want to stand guard on him all day. I guess they wouldn't allow that in kindergarten. LOL

Oh my, that was upsetting. Poor kid having to go through that. I hope you all have calmed down and that Jesse has no more problems. I don't understand parents like that, can you imagine what is going to happen when that kid is a teenager if his mother can't control him now?

My sisters and I were at the Beach Club, but we didn't go to the parks. We stayed at the pool, ate some good food, went to downtown Disney and basically just relaxed and got caught up. We hardly see each other these days so it was nice.

On my way to NJ for the weekend, we are going to a wedding tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll post some pics next week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!:)

Oh, Grandma Angelrose, that is very upsetting! It's scary when you think of what kids have to put up with sometimes! The whole "bully" mentality has gotten out of control. I don't blame you one bit for being infuriated! Good for you for keeping yourself under control. You're right - it wasn't your place when Karen was there. (but I'll bet it wasn't easy.) I hope things improve & that boy doesn't return.

Back to the Pirates & Princesses Party - how cute to do a combo party for them. Looks like everyone had a great time. The picture sure show how much fun the kids were having.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm going to the A's/ Tigers play-off game on Saturday evening. I was a good mommy and let my older son have my ticket for tonight's game (what was I thinking!?)
