Our flight gets in about 10:00 AM at SNA. We are picking up a rental car and stopping at Vons in Garden Grove. I am looking for a place to eat lunch. DD only eats hamburgers at home, so In-N-Out is, well, out! :)

Sure we can eat at Wendy's, but I wanted to do something we don't have at home. I think we are going to go to Tortilla Joe's in DTD that night, so didn't want Mexican twice, necessarily. Angelos looked intriguing. Has anyone eaten here? Good or bad? Thanks!

Are you talking about Angelos II on Chapman? We walked there twice and we LOVED it. I will go again next time 110%. The portions were fantastic, the prices reasonable (you could probably feed two kids for the price of one DL churro and bottle of Coke) and the food was good. Our group got a BLT, chicken strips, gyro, onion rings, a burger and chili cheese fries. We loved everything. I have heard raves about the zucchini fries but didn't try them.

The hamburgers are that perfect balance of better-than-homemade and homestyle, if that makes sense? They're not fast-food-y crap. They're big burgers, you could easily split one between your two kids. There are plenty of other things on the menu that are kid-friendly if she isn't feeling like trying a burger.

Literally my only gripe about this place was that they didn't have much for chicken strip dipping sauce, just ranch or a tangy-spicy barbecue that I didn't like. I'm a honey mustard or plum sauce gal myself.
