I got (mp3 music Download) it free and works well. If any body finds a good app for the Android phones post it.

lookout
quick setting
mobile defense
mabilo ringtones
mabilo wallpapers
launcherpro
easytether
ringleader free

All of these are in the market free. Lookout is the best anti-virus right now. Quick setting is a one stop app for wifi, gps, bluetooth, screen brightness, and volume control.

A few places to look for info on apps is Androidcentral and androidforums.

key ring (you can load all those bar code thingies from your key chains)
fox news
yahoo mail

slacker radio
gmail
advanced task killer (saves your battery)
air horn (wicked cool)
barcode scanner
car home (helps you navigate and turns the phone into a tom tom)
grocery iq (prints out coupons)
google goggles (scans a picture of something and takes you to a webpage of it)
handcent SMS (a better texting program)
pandora
ringlert
the weather channel
swype (wicked cool)
tip calculator
you tube

I think the title of this thread is misleading. Y'all came in here to talk Greek or gibberish or some 3rd-world-country language I don't speak. and wtheck is an android. thought that was some critter from Alien or Star Wars or something.

It took some getting used to, but I am almost too used to it now.;)

I know what you mean.... sometimes I make some funny goofs and I like that! :rotfl2: I did get hardcent though beause of your posting and I like it a lot! Also airhorn. Try Droid Fart

Those running android 2.2 (froyo) should avoid using task killers. They are not needed and can cause problems with memory management....that's Google's official stance.

The google voice app is pretty cool to for those who use GV.

tell that to my battery....

I will be glad when I get around to rooting the phone anyway....better battery life.

You can program handicent to respond in certain colors, like navy and orange and in certain wonderful fonts, like copperplate. Certain wonderful colleges use those you know....;)

I have been thinking about rooting my EVO with unrevoked. I just want to do it for the free tethering. I love my EVO even more then my DW's I phone.

I thought my DH was just being a geek when he rooted his, however, it runs so much faster now, uses a 1/3rd less battery on all apps and doesn't crash on apps like mine has from the last update. (Thanks verizon) My Droid rebooted itself in the middle of church last Sunday without me knowing it (it WAS on silent) and it started to go off....not good from someone who runs the sound board and is in the back of the church where everyone can see her. Ugh...

Lorna and Donnie have this bad habit of texting me during communion....I have to keep those two in check you know....:rotfl2:

Bad battery life without task killers and forced reboots, huh? Sounds like you may need to do a hard reset and reload some apps. Those two problems are usually the result of some 3rd party apps not playing nice with the OS. Sometimes an OS update will break or cause apps to act up.

I had a rooted Hero for a while. I was running a custom version of 2.1. My and my wife's EVO's are both unrooted at the moment. I just haven't wanted to mess with them. They both run great...no reboots, good battery life, no lockups. It's the first smartphone that I have had that functions like you would want one to. I go through phones pretty regularly (Treo 700w, Treo700wx, HTC Mogul, Centro, Treo Pro, Palm Pre, Palm Pixi, HTC Hero...), and I am finally satisfied with HTC and Android.

I agree the Evo is the first phone I have been happy with. The palm pre I didn't even keep it a year.

You dont have to root your phone just for free tethering. I use PDAnet from free app store. So far has worked great.
