Sorry, but I can't get the search engine to work?

Since SW now flies out of my local airport (Dulles/IAD), I've started paying more attention to the DING and SW information.

My question is, there will be seven in my party - four adults, a seven year old, and twin 3 year olds.

My understanding is that my husband and I can preboard with our children, so it doesn't really matter if we have an A B or C boarding pass.

My parents are traveling with us, but they cannot preboard, because they aren't the parents of my children, is that correct? So, we should preboard online 24 hours in advance, and get them A boarding passes, so we can sit near each other.

Just trying to make sure that I am understanding SW boarding system correctly.

I would still go ahead and check your entire family in at 24 hours. Southwest has been known to suspend preboarding with young children when there are a lot of children on the flight.

Another one for getting the As for the entire family. It also really helps out as even when you preboard it's just like getting a front of the A line pass and still keeps the A,B,C line correct perspective

Thanks for all the info! Now, if SW would just release info for dates past May 10!

I thought for sure that it would have been last week or this week . I can't believe they only really have 6 or 7 weeks open right now.I check my Blackberry everyday if I'm not at a computer with net. It's become a routine at 11:00 and 11:15 everyday now

Southwest has just under four months available for booking right now, not 6 or 7 weeks. The magic number for Southwest is 105 days, only very rarely have they ever had less than 105 days available for booking.

So, taking where they are open now, which is 5/10, and subtracting 105 days gives you 1/25, which is next Thursday. I'd be surprised if it's earlier, but I'd sure be ready on Thursday if there's something you want to get booked quickly.

OMG:rotfl2: you are so right for some reason I had march on my mind this entire month while looking at flights.

I have so lost it here lately I'm glad someone is paying attention and keeping me straight.:thumbsup2

maybe it was the back to back trips and now having to wait until June. I'm trying to fit another trip in and have been looking at the march/April time frame.:sad2: I'm just:sad2:

I hope you get the flights you're looking for! :cool1: The more trips, the better!

I have $400 in credits right now so I should be good for the 3 of us for our June trip.

It just depends on if we get down before then that the dates are already open as well as we are going to VeroB at the end of Aug.

We are lucky that we have about 8 to 10 flights a day out of BWI so there is always a good fare as we leave very early and come back home very late. Most don't like traveling at those times so we have been very lucky with SW.

I too have been watching the SW fares out of Dulles. I've not flown them yet and am not thrilled about not having assigned seating, but have thought of taking them one way to WDW and booking United for my flight back. That way I can use the resort checkin for my TED flight when leaving. I had not realized that booking one way for each flight is the way to go. I pasted on $59 fares because my return flight was not available yet (but have since changed my gameplan). Just a question. I see lots of folks with SW credits. Are the credits assigned to each person, or does the credit go back to the account of the person paying for the tickets to use as they want for future flights??

When I play around with dates and it seems Wednesday is fairly inexpensive, but Saturday is sometimes double. Is that normal for SW? When we go in June we take off on a Wednesday and will return 11 days later on a Saturday. Does anyone know SW enough to answer this?......Oh, wait....this is the DIS. Of course SOMEONE will know this answer.....

Each SW flight has a limited number of cheap seats. Other seats can easily be twice as much. If you are flying on a popular day, there will be fewer cheap seats, and the few that exist go fast. For a flight I'm looking at, there were never any cheap seats.

So you may be able to get cheap seats on a Saturday if you act fast. But it's very possible they will be twice the price.

Also, not that you won't see a DING fare for a popular day.

the credit follows the ressie number but can be used by anyone... people have been known to buy/sell swa credits...
