nope, didn't need any dining advice!
we're adults, we know what we like!
don't need no stinkin' rating of adr's... we don't need help! :rotfl: except.... now we do:rotfl2:

11 y/o niece will join us for a few days of NEXT month's trip ~ had to turn a few adr's :upsidedow upside down :upsidedow

BOOKED: Boma, CP, Ohana.

Need two more!

For a 10/11/12 y/o girl, what would be your choice out of the following?
SciFi
Chef Mickey's
1900 Park Fare
other...please list w/ appropriate snarky comment for the late cry for help!

TIA!

LOL! No snarky comments, I promise!

I would do 1900 Park Faire for dinner with Cinderella, the stepsisters, the Prince and Lady Tremaine. It's so much fun for everyone, but very entertaining for young girls!

If you're going to do CP and 1900 PF, then I would opt for a non-character meal for the second choice....maybe Coral Reef, Teppan Edo or Sci-fi.

We did all three of your selections (Chef Mickeys, 1900 PF, and Sci-Fi) on our January trip with our just-turned-13-year old son. We LOVED them all.

That said, for a young girl, we would definitely recommend 1900 PF and Chef Mickeys. Two totally different atmospheres and two totally different groups of characters. 1900 PF will likely be a very big hit if she's into princessess and royalty at all (plus the stepsisters are a total hoot.....too funny!! :lmao: ). Plus, every little girl needs to experience the elegance of the GF in person (OK, even us big girls do too!).

For Chef Mickeys, really nothing beats hanging out with the Fab 5, and all that napkin-waving really does make for a good time. Characters are great and this meal has such a "Disney" feel, its a must for every new visitor in our opinion!!!

Both are buffets so everyone should get very full with very little effort! Not gourmet meals by any stretch, but good, hearty buffet offerings nonetheless with lots of kid-friendly staples. Make your own sundaes are at both (though CM's has a better topping bar :) ).

Sci-Fi is great too, but unless she's a science fiction fan or really digs eating in the cars, skip it for the 2 buffets. The food at Sci-Fi is good, but not worth the trip alone. Burgers, fries and shakes can be picked up almost anywhere.

Have fun!!

one to vote for Sci Fi so far. I like the kitschy fell of the clips and i think it appeals to a lot teens and pre-teens. If going I would book lunch and stick to burgers.

I think the full cast of Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare is entertaining. Some younger kids, my daughter included, don't appreciate the "villains", but they are very entertaining. We go to Chef Mickey's every trip on our last day. It's good to see the major characters at the end, but it's not a good meal (breakfast) in my mind. The characters are great though. You have Ohana booked but you didn't specify if it was breakfast - characters - or dinner - no characters.

It's fun to see Disney with a kid. Enjoy

i voted for sci fi. while the food is not WOW! it is a pretty cool place to go, especially for a first time. Many kids have never been to a drivein these days since so many are gone

the only awkward this is if there are 3 of you, one will need to sit solo :)

12 year old dd here - and she didnt care for Chef Mickey's (of course that's because we spoiled her on that free dining and went to Cali Grill!!)

for buffet 1900 Park Fare - the step family is snarky enough to add a bit - without being embarrassing!

Not done SciFI - but just based on the menu I'd pick Sci Fi over Prime Time! (Hollywood and VIne is connected to Prime Time and to use the bathrooms you can peak into PT - we both shrugged our shoulders - it didnt appeal to us - but that's Disney for you - Something for everyone!)

that being said - do know whatever you pick will be JUST RIGHT! - because, after all
1. you are in Disney and
2 what you dont know you wont miss!!

Thanks everyone!!

Yes, Ohana we are doing for character breakfast - we'll be at the Poly so it's also convenient.

We're limited on the time she'll be w/ us, but we may try to squeeeeeeeeze in all 3 in the poll, based on the wonderful comments!

So, SciFi would be lunch, stick to burgers & fries, gotcha.

Chef Mickey's & 1900 Park Fare - breakfast or dinner?

My dd11 is over the princesses. She likes SciFi, Boma and CP and would be ok with Chef Mickey's. She did not like 'Ohanas. (She doesn't like participating in the group things, which is sometimes tough for a child on their own.) However, now it's all about the food, so what does your neice like to eat? My dd loves asian foods and steaks so her faves are:

Le Cellier
50s Prime Time
Yak & Yeti
Nine Dragons
Tokyo Dining
Rainforest

Since you wanted us to be snarky, any of them should be easy to get at a late date, except Le Cellier. :lmao:

I voted for Chef Mickey and Sci-Fi based on food alone. We did breakfast at CM and loved it on our last trip. I haven't eaten at Sci-Fi in a few years but did enjoy my burger and milkshake at the time.

She would probably enjoy 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella. I didn't vote for it only because I really didn't enjoy my meal here. For me it was the worst meal of the trip. I don't eat prime rib and the other offerings were just not good at all. Everyone in our group though that likes prime rib said it was excellent and really enjoyed the dinner.

thanks for the help, we are all set now! can't wait!!!
we had Boma, CP (breakfast) and Ohana (breakfast) and have added SciFi for lunch, 1900 Park Fare for dinner.
Thanks again!

I voted for Sci-Fi..I like all of your choices...But I was thinking back to when my 9 year old nephew came with us...He loved Sci-Fi most...He was kind of over the whole character thing...I think he enjoyed the characters but I tries to act like he is too cool for that kind of thing...He did not have to act at Sci-Fi...He loved the atmosphere and his food.

Are you doing he dining plan? I voted Chef Mickey's for the character meal but what about Hoop De Doo - we just did it again in December and had a great time. I plan to do it again this December - it really is a great dinner show and I thought the chicken and ribs were delicious.

1900 dinner.

Why?

Because the food is good. Lot's of choices, so you are sure to find something you like. Strawberry soupy is always fun to try.

The entertainment is fabulous, the service is wonderful, the Grand Floridian is beautiful. Time it right, to see fireworks from the beach after dinner.

We've done it three times. My boys ages 12 and 10, and my girls are 4 and 18 months.
