We joined DVC in 2005 and its our goal to try all the DVC resorts at WDW one at a time!:cloud9:

So, first we stayed at our home resort, SSR. It was great! I loved just strolling over to DD.

This past November, we stayed at OKW. I liked it even better! The atmosphere was so casual and relaxing!
(FYI: This is a trend, DH points out that I always say I like each new resort "even better!")

This year, we want to try BCV...I'm so excited; especially about the close proximity to Epcot! And the kids will flip over Stormalong Bay!

So, If anyone has stayed at the BCV, particulary in a 2BR vacation home, please give suggestions for room requests.
I think that I may request a 2BR facing Epcot....

Thanks!
Kathy

Awesome!!! Great Plan!

Maybe it's my age, but I loved the 2 bdroom we had a few weeks ago, Rooms 105/07 I think, bottom floor, just steps away from the entrance that leads to the BC Marketplace, and steps from the quiet pool. I love not having to deal with an elevator.

We are also doing BCV as we are going to try them all out. Might even try a VB stay at the end of summer for a few nights this year.

I just asked for closest to SAB for our June trip but I see all view and room have something to offer.Close to buses .close to parking lot for rental,Epcot view and so forth.

Yea we have really liked the Pool View as well, the EPCOT side unless you are really high is fine but my kids like the activty of the pool side and it is pretty at night. If you have a choice on arrival and you are not sure-take the pool view IMHO.

Just so you know - there is no longer an "Epcot view" request at BCV. They pulled that when Soarin' was built due to the obstruction.

Kathy,we had an Epcot view in Dec and it was truley the worst view we have ever had at ANY Disney resort. We were right up against a pretty busy highway with just one thin tree between us and it. I'm not knocking BCV ( in fact we'll be back there in April ) but the highway is a consideration. Can you please tell me a little more about what you loved about OKW? We are staying there for the first time next trip and I am really hesitant. I,too, love SSR. TIA

That has also been our plan since we purchased in 2000. Yet, we have only stayed at OKW and BWV. We also own at BCV and purchased when opened in 02 and have yet to stay here or any of the other resorts. We are going on our 4th DCL cruise so that's another reason (every other year).

That is still my plan. I also want to stay at the Vero and HH resort. Someday. You start to bring family/friends, son's friends and you go for the room and less points.

Good luck. I am happy as long as I am there:)

I totally agree with Jade1.

The pool view provides something to look at both day and night. We have had many views at BCV and none were worth even requesting really. Pool was our favorite so far and the Epcot view was our least favorite. Sure it was nice for that brief period at night but the rest of time we didn't like it at all.

We did have a decent view of the entrance to the BCV section. It was nice to people watch and we got the added bonus of witnessing some major meltdowns from the litle ones returnoing late from the parks. Made us smile knowing our little had been fast asleep since 8:00.;) Made that glass of wine taste even better.:thumbsup2

I've stayed in rooms with just about every view available at BCV. The EPCOT side of the resort isn't what I would say is the most interesting, you can only see the top of Spaceship Earth and the back side of the Land Pavilion from some areas and those are closest to the road. If you are talking about Illuminations View I would say ask for 224, 324 or 424 but you will see only the higher fireworks and that only lasts for about 20 minutes a day, the rest of the time you will be just looking at trees, maybe the top of the Eiffle tower in France. You might even get some beautiful sunrises if your an early riser. They are also close to the main elevators, therefore close to the
BC lobby. 224 would also be the shortest walk to EPCOT or the Boardwalk, but only by a couple of minutes.
My favorite views are of the Quiet Pool/Canal, there's usually some activity in the area if you like people watching.

Remember requests are only that, the more requests you make the better the chance you will get one of them.

One view that I wouldn't ask for again was an Epcot view. It was the worst view. Give me a pool view any day!

We are going to attempt this as well. Last year it was VWL and BVC and this year it will be BWV and OKW. By the way, I really think all the resorts are very nice, I actually visited them all except VB. You'll love BVC!! Being close to Epcot was super for me and my DW and DK's loved SOB.

I definitely want to stay in the EPCOT area this year. DH and I spent Marathon weekend at the WDW Swan and we were really happy with the location. :goodvibes It will be even better with the whole family!

BCV will be my first choice, b/c of SOB, but I will be happy to try BWV as well! BCV seems as though it would be a bit quieter at night....

My only concern about a pool view is that it may be noisy at night when we're trying to get the kids to sleep.

I'm not really one of those that puts a great importance on "the view" from our window, but more for Location, Location, Location!!

Kathy

Although the pool view is pretty at night, I do prefer the Epcot side. I love looking at those trees.:) It seems more peaceful and private to me.

But when we have had pool view, the noise hasn't been a factor at all. The pool isn't that busy and people do seem respectful of their "neighbors."

We have also stayed in various places in the BCV and all of them had their good points. The pool area is nice as well as further down directly over the canal. Last year they had to call in guys to get a gator out of the canal.I am not sure how often that happens but he caused quite a commotion and we had a birds eye view. You also see the fish and ducks swimming so if you have little ones they will enjoy that.At night the pool area is quite pretty with the lights. You do tend to hear a bit from the parking lot though especially if it's around park closing time and you happen to have the door or windows open.
One time we had requested a pool view however the only 2 BDRM that they had available was at the back of the building. At first I was really disappointed, The CM said that there was no longer a view of the Illuminations due to a building obstruction (I just read it is Soarin'). We had trees to look at during the day and a clear view of Eiffel tower however at night we had the most incredible view of the fireworks. We were higher up and of course you can't see the lower part of the show but for about 20 minutes or so you had what seemed to be your own fireworks display.
You'll like the BCV,in fact that's the only place my family wants to stay. We have stayed at HH,VB,BCV,SSR and VWL. They are all very nice but BCV is absolutely our favorite.Smaller resort, amazing pool, location location location

Hope you have a great time!!!

ps Sorry I don't have the exact room number right now but if I can find it I will be sure to let you know
