Credit card theft. . I was using a debit card solely for offers, and I noticed 2 unauthorized charges. They were both from AP9 (saving smart, etc). According to the person at my bank I spoke with, this isn't the first time this has happened with this company.
Obviously, at this point, we all know what's what with reward programs and the risks we take, but I'm getting a Simon visa for those offers that won't take a Discover number.

OT sorta: but have you found a lot of offers that won't take discover? that is the card I plan on using and have used in the past.

I'd say Maybe 70% take Discover.

i am so sorry that happened to you! This has been a HUGE fear of mine (and my DH ) since I began rewards programs.
I exclusively use my Simon card for my cc offers and I will say this..yes, there have been a few offers that won't work because of it, but the majority of them have been fine. But I cannot even begin to tell you the 'activity' on the Simon card. Some of these offers hit me for 2 or 3 times for the charge. Lots of offers have put significant 'pending' charges on it. Yes, they have all eventually dropped off, some I have had to call on but most on their own....but I cringe at the idea of all these transactions actually affecting our bank account. No Way! Not worth the worry or the effort of trying to keep track. We balance our checking account on an almost daily basis and it would be a nightmare trying to organize them with our day to day banking! These offers are best left in one safe place where I can monitor them carefully without impacting our bank account.
Any charges appear instantly and the phone # is always there with the transaction so I can call asap if there is a problem. Anyone who is considering rewards programs, I HIGHLY recommend a Simon Visa for peace of mind!

I signed up for those offers, and dealth with the charges, in March. These charges came out of nowhere, and were one $1 charge and one $1.25 charge.
I did not do the t-shirt offer.

I got a visa gc from walgreens (gift2go) and then got visa gc from CVS (vanilla visa)
I have occasionally used a debit card for an offer that I just had to try but was really nervous about it. I think I have used the debit card three or four times total.

No, sometimes I dont feel like typing everything out w/ each situation / question and with this thread, I wanted to show you that Dealpass is a good reliable company and how I trust them so much to even dedicated a page to this company as well as show you that it does save you money on the big retailers like Macy's etc..

I did read what happened and it was NOT clear to me that you did NOT do any offer at that time.

My question is did you RECENTLY sign up for any offers at the same time you were charge.

Sorry for not understanding your situation or the posts previous.

In my almost 1 year of dealing with these offers...especially DealPass, usually it's not the program's fault and it's all in the terms. Not to say that it's not fraud in your case..that's why I needed more clarification from you.

And about my bragging my site, it's full of info that are not found elsewhere and yes, sometimes I do link to it ..either because I dont feel like retyping /explaining the same thing over and over again, or because it's too much for me to type out, and all of the time it's relevant to the issue.

PS. there are about 5 instances on this board that I can think of now, where I can add a link to my site and unfortunately this time, I decided to do so.
The other instances were about debit cards/simoncards/virtual cards/ALT+= trick/offers/etc
Each time, I feel that my posts were helpful and with the best intentions.

Also, i've been guilty of looking for referrals to 1 site in particular for a referral contest that ends today. But that's not why I'm here. In fact I was just telling someone that this is a great forum and not like other forums that are more cut throat and full of spam.

Yeah I know. I got a pm from her too and actually it makes me leary. It just makes Tricia's warning go off in my head about being careful with the sites. I'm really happy with the sites I do now and have a sense of trust with them and if warning bells are going off in my head - i'll pass. It maybe a great site but like you said it's being pushed pretty hard I don't know

OP, sorry to hear this happened to you. I actually had to file fraud reports with 2 of my cards. The fraudulent charges were for small amounts but I didn't want to take the chance of anything else happening. Now it is my SImon Card or nothing (unless I have 100% confidence in the company.)

No one should be sending unsolicited PMs to DISers asking to be used as a referral for any RP, or pressuring them to participate more in an RP that they are currently a member of.

If you're receiving PMs like that, please forward them to a moderator or webmaster along with your complaint. The DIS is not to be used as a moneymaker for someone.

i independently have done research on many sites, joining Treasure trooper, cashduck etc and have found a few sites pay more than others on the same offers. The majority of them have amazing support so the only thing that i can distinguish between them are the features and offer payouts and honestly some sites really disappoint and are very stingy with their members.

I'm trying to show that there are many other good sites out there.
You can sure pick one site and stick with it but why follow everyone else?
If you do your research, you'll find out for yourself if the site is worth doing. Maybe even find one with an admin just as considerate who even pay higher for their offers.

Did you know that Kira is part of the GPT owners alliance and each and every one of those site members are all trustworthy. There are many other good sites too..those that decided not to join that clique.

Maybe it's not what you say, but rather how you say it. I obviously mistook your communication as a promotion of a specific site. Perhaps it's just a coincidence that many of us thought you were affiliated with MPC.

That's actually true of any rewards site not just TT. Technically if you want the IRS rule, you have to report all income to them even if you don't hit $600 on each reward site. We are not dumb over here. We've actually had a few discussions in March and April on the issue of taxes and reward sites.

Its how you are talking to us over here which is making people mad the most. You might want to cool it.

The only thing I like about MPC is that they pay highest for most offers...and i've compare many offers at many sites...even the newer ones that have been sprouting up lately. I think i hear about 3 new sites each week!

all of those new sites are former members too...like how sunshine rewards and cashduck were all former members.

And like how I joined CD when it just got started, i joined every new site as well.

And each time i go back to RHC or MPC and compare their offers to the newer sites. I even try to send in support tickets to see how fast the sites respond.

If they're worth it..old sites or new sites, I recommend them. If not, I dont even bother talking about them. Or if they are rude/arrogant, I give them a bad review and maybe even warn others about them in the forum.
