Background:
DH & I, 40-ish, WDW every year since we were married in 1993 (see signature). Face a lot of backlash for that among family and friends. You know what I mean: "Why are you going THERE again?" "Don't you want to go somewhere else?" "You guys don't even have kids. What's the attraction?" And on, and on, and on.
DH has a new job. Barely any vacation time. Maybe one three-day weekend this summer and perhaps a couple of other days later on. This is "sad," but it's okay. At least he HAS a job. Not going on vacation twice a year will save us big money for when he DOES have vacation time in a couple of years.
Recent developments:
I told DH that, while he was working on Saturday, I watched the Animal Kingdom special on the Travel Channel. I'd never seen it. It was really good. Even though AK isn't my favorite park, it was very interesting. He asked me if I learned anything that I didn't already know. I said "no," but I enjoyed it - even though it made me a little sad.
A half-hour later, out of the blue, DH looks up from his magazine and says...
"Maybe we should plan a 3-4 day trip in the fall, October, like we did last year. I'd hate to break our streak."
I wish I'd had a tape recorder! He ALWAYS blames it on me!
