Anandapur Yak & Yeti Restaurant?

I called yesterday to make our ADR's for October, and they're still not making them yet for this restaurant. The CM I spoke with said she knew there was going to be a new restaurant at AK, but didn't know anything else about it. She did try really hard to find some info, but came up with nothing. We don't go till the end of Oct., so I hope we can try this one!

Is there a menu posted anywhere? I'm a little reluctant to make an ADR without knowing anything about what's offered.

We made a ADR for Yak & Yeti for Nov. 24th today. :cool1:
I just spoke with a CM about making a reservation. The reservation system is a point & click type setup, and there are only two listings under "Animal Kingdom" as of 9:35 tonight: Breakfastosaurus, and the Rainforest Cafe. Yak & Yeti isn't there.

This doesn't appear to be a case of not knowing where to look or misspelling the name, since it's point & click. If Yak & Yeti (any spelling) could be selected in the reservation system, she would have. It is still unavailable.

Duchess Tisha, how do you know you actually have a reservation for Yak & Yeti and not some other restaurant?

ohiotony, unless you're traveling thanksgiving weekend. You will have more than enough time to go have an earlish, 5-6pm dinner at boma's and still have plenty of time for AK. And the only thing open during EMH nights is Dino-land, everest and maybe one showing of Lion King. I wouldn't worry a bit. So I would do the west side, camp MM and Africa, then Flights of Wonder and the Jungle trek, watch the parade and leave, have dinner and come back for dino-land. The holiday parade starts 15 minutes early cause it's a little longer and a little better than the normal jammin jungle parade.

I called yesterday, the CM was very knowledgable about Yak & Yeti. She said that they had just had a meeting about the "2nd 1/2 of 2007 and all the updates/changes. She said that they would not be taking ADR's for Yak & Yeti till sometime in August, at the earliest and that is only if, they are still on schedule to open October 8th as originally planned.

duchess_tisha ......
You said you made ADR's for the Yak and the Yeti for Nov. 24th ... Everytime I call they say they are not taking resevations ?????? :confused3
Did they say if the dinning plan was accepted? We love the rainforest cafe and we will goto the Yak and the Yeti even if it is not on the dinning plan.
Thanks for the info..

I'm interested in making an adr for our last day(Jan3rd)as we will be in AK,so i hope they come up with a menu soon.

If it's a Landry's - I wonder if the will take the Rainforest Safari Club card.
The two rainforests in AK and Downtown do. They do priority seating with the card.

We booked it on 6/26 and they gave us a confirmation #. I will call back and make sure that it is correct.

Let us know, duchess. I was making my dining reservations for our Fall trip yesterday and asked about the restaurant. The CM said it wasn't in the system yet.

Has anyone seen anything about the menu?

DW called four hours ago and ressies for Y&Y were not accepted yet. The CM seemed in the know and even said she just spoke with her supervisor after someone else had called in about the same thing.

I have a question about the Yak & Yeti Restaurant somewhat along the lines being mentioned in here. Ok - we all bascially know that the Restaurant will open on or about 10/8/2007. We all know they will be serving Pan - Asian type food.
We all know, for the moment, that the menu is not yet available and that reservations do not appear to be open for ADR's until sometime in August.

Ok - the $64.00 question is this -
Is this also going to be a dinner type of restaurant besides the likely breakfast and lunch? Does anyone know this for sure?
And, if you do believe that this restaurant will include dinner, then how is this going to work out?
I mean, the park, for the most part, closes at 5pm each and every day except a few months in the summer. So, with most normal Disney restaurants having dinner start at 5pm or 530pm, how are they going to handle the crowds hanging around for dinner at...say...7pm? And, how do they plan on getting the customers out of the park thereafter.

Of course, all of this is moot if it's just a breakfast or just a lunch restaurant but ir sure does seem like a huge undertaking for just 1 or 2 meals a day.

Any thoughts?

Is this also going to be a dinner type of restaurant besides the likely breakfast and lunch?
It's more likely that it will be a lunch & dinner restaurant; breakfast is the question, really. The restaurant can stay open after the attractions in the park are closed. I would guess the restaurant will stay open until around 8 when the park closes at 5.

the last time we went to Rainforest at AK, our ADR was for 6:30, the park was closing at 6. We wern't seated till 6:50 and by the time we ate and got out of there at 8:15, THERE WERE NO BUSES BACK TO THE HOTEL:scared1: but................when we explained that to the hostess at the restaurant, she called the All Star Movie and they sent a bus over to pick us up. Now that is ALL START service!:cheer2:

I am hoping to be able to make dinner reservations there while for our trip in December so I am anxious to hear any info!
:cutie:

I had read somewhere that "Breakfastosaurus at Restaurantosaurus" was being replaced with "Donald's Safari Breakfast" which would be housed in this restaurant. Is this wrong?

I thought the new bfast was at Tusker House which is changing to a buffet. So many changes to keep straight.
