Any News on the new AK tableservice resteraunt? We are planning a Dec trip and want to save a TS credit for Yak & Yeti! Gotta make those ADR's soon:goodvibes ..I'm wondering if anybody has tried to make ressies for Yak & Yeti?

They are not taking ressies yet. I just called Saturday.

It has been announced that Y&Y will open on October 8.

I can't wait for this to open! It was fun seeing the construction when we were just there...

I also called on Saturday (June9) the CM I spoke to had no knowledge of the yak and yeti. She said "the guests know more about what's going on then we do here" I had to tell her about the restaurant, where it was being built, what kind of cuisine.... I was a bit disappointed that she couldn't answer my questions.

i posted this on another thread, not sure if it got a response. but I was wondering since yak and yeti is supposed to be a landry restaurant if they will even take adrs? The rainforest cafes don't take them do they? wonder if that's why the cms don't know.

tricia.

Anyone know why more Disney restaurants seem to be moving away from Disney owned to others? I'm very disappointed with the way they seem to be moving away from "Disney" to subcontractors. I know the contracts are fairly stringent, but I feel more of a Disney feel in those things done by Disney CMs.

Each time that I've tried for ressies (latest was 6/14) the people have been very helpful, but they are uncertain as to when the restaurant will be available.

Got back last night. As far as Yak & Yeti goes - the roof it on, and the walls are going up. I kept telling my husband that it is supposed to open in October and they are nowhere near being done. He kept telling me that it will finish in time. Guess the good weather in Florida doesn't slow down construction as much as I think it would. I did honestly expect it to be further along, though.

We were really hoping that it would be on the dining plan.
We are spending only one day at AK from about noon as well as EMH (evening) . I already know we will have one meal at Flametree as a CS but still need a TS for that day. We considered leaving for a short time to go to Boma but from what I understand dining there takes awhile.
Would another option be the revamped Tusker House ? Will this now be a TS?

Rainforest Cafe does take ADRs. At least the one in AK does.

Just called this morning (6/19) and they weren't taking ADR yet and didn't know when they would....
:cutie:

It's the DDP, only 1 step up. Instead of 1TS, 1CS and 1snack/day, you get 3TS/day and a whole bunch of extras (La Nouba, parasailing, waterskiing, mini-golf etc) and there is no more "signature restaurants" for 2TS credits. Each TS is 1 credit, and you can have in-room dining, and some restaurants - like the Rainforest Cafe- that are not included on the regular DDP are included on the DDP Premium. The Premium plan also include the dinner shows like the Hoop De Doo for 1TS credit.

Oh it's the MYW Premium plan, not a separate DDP Premium plan.
