My boyfriend and I are going to DL and DCA March 8-10. Because the cheerleader convention is in town, we couldn't get into the hotel I normally stay at. The ONLY place we could get a room, besides paying 300 bucks a night at one of the onsites was the Islander Inn. They said they just renovated it, and it's "quite nice", but has anyone ever stayed there? Just curious.

Hi there![/F

Hi there!

The Islander Inn used to be pretty sad looking--I never stayed there but walked past it many times on previous trips to Disneyland -- it was run-down and seedy looking. HOWEVER, it was allegedly renovated, so it had to have improved. Hope this helps--I don't mean to frighten you but just wanted to give you a "heads up" on what to expect.

I hope you do have a wonderful trip!

GraceONT] Hi there!

Yeah, I'm hoping their renovation was a thorough thing. Oh well, I shouldn't be in the room too much anyway. Thanks so much.

I know for a few years they were dropped out of the AAA guide and they have been put back in for the last couple of years.

Just reporting back. The hotel was fine and it was pretty decent for the price. If you just want someplace to stay and you won't be at the hotel for very long, it's not bad and it's cheap.

Just to add an FYI, they have a shuttle that leaves from Zaby's, which is right next door on Katella...it was a nice little hotel without the frills.... :)
