Anaheim Hilton

I will be attending a Conference at the end of July, first of August. It is at the Anaheim Hilton. Anyone stay there? It advertises that it is next door to Disneyland. Is that an accurate description? They also offer a Disneyland veiw. Can anyone comment on that? Is it worth the extra $$?

I have one more question. Are the Disneyland parks as friendly for Pooh sized folks? Thanks for the info.

I stayed at the hilton back in teh '90s and it was fantastic then. It is a bit of a walk from the park (15 minutes I think). Used to be closer because you could cut across the parking lot, but now that's DCA!

Not exactly - it's across the street from DCA, and "next door" to the Anaheim Convention Center. Here's a bird's eye view. There is an entrance that allows pedestrians to walk into the parking lot adjacent to DCA and catch a parking lot tram to the main entrance.

Is the Hilton next door to Disneyland/DCA? - yes and no

The Anaheim Hilton is across the street (Katella) from the south side of California Adventure. However, the walk from the Hilton to the front gates of the parks is a bit of a hike.....about 20 minutes. So it is next door, but not really next door since the entrance to the parks is about two looooooong blocks away, in addition to the fact that the Hilton is set back off Katella by at least a half block.

Dh and I walked it once......and only once.

After that, we drove our rental car and happily paid the parking fee at the Mickey and Friends parking structure.

If we didn't have a rental, we would definitely either take a cab or take the ART (Anaheim Resort Transit).

As far as the themepark view rooms, our room had an awesome view of California Adventure as well as the fireworks (although we were there when they had fireworks every night).

The Disneyland themeparks are for sure pooh-size friendly. There's a few turnstiles here and there that could be a bit snug getting through, but the majority of rides/attractions are easily accessible.

The Orange Stinger (at California Adventure) would not be accessible for anyone pooh sized. I think it's really the only ride that is completely not accessible.

Astro Orbitor - ride vehicles are awkward to get in/out of (for people of any size).
Nemo Sub - the spiral stairway going into the sub is a bit narrow, but I don't think would pose too much of a problem.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what else. Someone else can probably chime in with additional info.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy Disneyland Resort during your conference.

I've stayed at the Hilton twice since 2007 and think it's a very good hotel. They did a complete refurbishment of all guest rooms and public spaces between 2007 and 2008. The refurbed rooms are a welcome sight as the hotel was definitely showing its age prior to the refurb. One of my stays was pre-refurb and the second stay was in the new rooms, and the change was significant! The Starbucks in the lobby is also super nice!

The pedestrian walkway to the Timon parking lot used to be the *best* way to get to DL. It was a 10-minute walk to the Timon lot tram stop and then you joined the guests waiting for the tram. However, the Timon lot has been reconfigured as of last Fall due to the construction/expansion of DCA and the tram stop is now much further away. The walk is still do-able (and probably faster than driving, parking, waiting for a tram, taking the tram to the main entrance), but it is a significant walk as others have posted above.

Using the zoom lens, I could make out the Golden Gate Bridge at DCA, the DL Christmas Tree and yes, even Sleeping Beauty's Castle in this picture.

I will want to request a Disney veiw. I think it is only $20 difference. At WDW a Disney veiw is much more $$$$$!

I can't wait. Now to decide who or IF I will take someone with me

I just got back about 3 weeks ago. We had the 11th floor with a disney view. Room 11105 to be exact! Request that one. We overlooked the pool and could see the fireworks. The elevators were not that far from the room either. Request a minifridge ($15 a week). We didn't have to walk that far to the Park. We went out the back entrance next to the convention center then crossed the street and cut through the Timon parking lot and caught the tram right to the front gate of Disneyland. You will fall in love with the linens that they use on the beds. They were so soft. The shower is a little on the low pressure side, so if you have longer hair it will take a little longer to rinse shampoo etc. The sliding doors to the bathroom were not the greatest but the extra fluffy towels made up for it. There is a LCD tv in the room but they are cheap on the channels. Internet is an extra cost and so is parking. I really enjoyed our stay (we were there 2 weeks). We would stay again. Enjoy!!

May I ask the date of the conference and how many people will attend?

We will be at Disneyland from July 27 to Aug 1 and wondering how much crowds will be affected by the conference. TIA

We stayed there once and if it were closer we'd probably stay there more often. Especially since we have HiltonHHonors. I also agree that the linens are nice, nicer I think, than GCH. The Starbucks in the lobby is a total bonus since that's all my DH drinks coffee-wise (although he thought the coffee in the parks was tasting better). The hotel is huge so the tip about getting a room near the elevator is really valid.
