Hey there,

This is my first post and I can't believe I hadn't come across these forums sooner!

My fiancee and I are planning to celebrate our engagement at Disneyland towards the end of this month. We're planning on staying in a Disney View Lanai room at the Hilton. Does anyone know how often Hilton changes its rates?

I found one rate yesterday through Expedia and then I tried to book today and it had already gone up $20/night. I called Hilton directly and they wouldn't honor it even with my AAA discount.

Any tips?

Thanks!

I would check back in a few days. I have found that some rates go up one day to be back down another???? :confused3

This is where we are staying in a few days. If there is anything you would like to know about it, let me know and I can get back to you when we get back (August 14th).

Thanks savs!

I asked the woman who took my reservation today for 8/20 and she said the rate literally fluctuates quite often. I booked the reservation to lock in the room as she suggested and she advised me to call back to re-rate if I notice the rate drop in the meantime.

I hope you have a wonderful time! We can't wait!!! :jumping3:

When we booked ours for this upcoming week (which we planned at the last minute). We got a Disney view room with 2 double beds and sleeps 5 for $104.00 a night. I'm not sure if that is good or not :confused3

I have AAA how much do they discount your room. I saw that yu said you had AAA :earsgirl:

It's not much apparently...the last I checked, the going rate was $199/night with AAA. I think it was somewhere around $214/night without, but then the AAA rate was probably lower when I checked the other day also. If I go to Hilton now and try to look for the same room without a AAA number, the Disney View rooms aren't even available to choose from. :confused3

That is an EXCELLENT rate!!! A King Disney View room with Lanai (their speak for balcony) is $199/night at the AAA discounted rate at the moment.

That room is now going for $179/night with AAA rate. :badpc:

Ooops, sorry! I just looked back on our reservations and I had the price wrong. But it looks like a good deal anyway. I'm not sure if it has a balcony or not, but it does say Disney view???? Below is a copy of our confirmation.

Room Description: 2 DOUBLE BEDS DISNEY VIEW
Rate Description: AAA STAY AND SAVE
Rate Per Night: $119.00

Just like any hotel rates fluctuate as occupancy goes up or down. The Anaheim Hilton is next to the convention center and if they get a confirmation on a convention group that wants 1,000 rooms, the rates for the remaining rooms would go up due to increased occupancy.

Hilton offers a "Best Rate" guarantee. I think it is if you book your room online and then find another online rate that is lower than what you booked at, you can have your rate adjusted to the lower rate. I'm not exactly sure how it works because I never pay more than $79/night when I visit since I stay there so often.

Enjoy your stay and continue to watch the rates and try to get the lower rate if it goes down.
